Harry and Meghan Are Bringing the Kids Back to the UK — So Where Will They Call Home?
With Harry and Meghan heading back to the UK, fans are keen to see where the Sussexes will set up house.
The royal family could be in for a rollercoaster ride as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare to return to the UK six years after their exit. Their comeback is happening much faster than anyone anticipated, as reportedly, the couple, along with their kids, are expected to relocate in the next few weeks, with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet set to start their new school year in September. As the rumor mill churns, royal fans are left with a burning question: where will Harry and Meghan live now that their former UK home, Frogmore Cottage, is completely out of the picture?
While the couple previously lived in Frogmore Cottage, it is a royal property, and Harry and Markle no longer have any right to it after stepping down from royal duties. While the Sussexes are coming back to the UK, this does not mark a return to royal life. According to reports from Cosmopolitan, Harry and Markle will establish a private, non-royal home base in Britain.
The exact location of their new home is being kept under wraps for security reasons, but it is said to be situated near the children’s new school. Their UK property will reportedly be a private residence rather than a royal home. The couple is also expected to keep their Montecito property in California, as well as their holiday home in Portugal.
Reacting to the news of Harry and Markle's UK return, royal commentator Afua Hagan told The Royal Observer, "It's definitely a new era for the royals. If we look at the moves Harry has, I think actually this has been building for a while." Discussing the intent behind Harry's move, Hagan elaborated, "It's clear that Harry wants to have a closer relationship, particularly with his father, and he's clearly making the move to do that."
The expert continued, "I think the fact that Harry misses a lot of elements of his UK life, and that's what I'm being told, I think that this doesn't come as a huge surprise." Highlighting the upcoming Invictus Games and his other ongoing commitments as a primary reason for the move, Hagan shared, "Harry will definitely be closer to things like the Invictus Games taking place in Birmingham in 2027. We've got the WellChild Awards, which is at the beginning of September, and all the other charities, Scotty's Little Soldiers, that he works with as well. He'll be much closer to them, which will be great for him."
