Expert Claims Andrew ‘Would’ve Rushed’ to Sarah’s Side — but She's Busy Putting Herself First
Once describing themselves as the 'happiest divorced couple,' Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson now appear at odds amid renewed scrutiny over their ties to Jeffrey Epstein. After their eviction from Royal Lodge, they have gone their separate ways, with Mountbatten-Windsor banished to the Sandringham Estate. Weighing on their strained terms, royal expert Ingrid Seward believes that Ferguson would have gotten way more support from her ex-husband in the wake of the scandal than she has offered him if the roles were reversed.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Seward opined, "I would love to see her [Ferguson] rush to his [Andrew's] side. God knows he would have rushed to hers, were this the other way around. But she is busy looking after number one. I doubt we'll see her for a while." Indeed, the former Duchess of York has not been seen in public since last September, when she was photographed driving out of Royal Lodge. Meanwhile, sources close to Ferguson stressed, "We have all spent a lot of time with her, and we all care for her. We are all worried that she might harm herself; it is that bad."
Furthermore, the royal expert detailed the impact of Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson's horrific scandal on their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. She revealed, "All the doubts will have come crashing in – those holidays they [Beatrice and Eugenie] had as children, the funds their father put in their bank account, all the lovely things they enjoyed. Sadly, they're going to start doubting everything their father ever told them." She added, "The girls feel that they can't be seen with their parents because everyone is watching. It makes a really difficult situation even more difficult."
In the wake of Mountbatten-Windsor's February 19 arrest, Beatrice and Eugenie would have been unable to reach him during his 11 hours in custody. Instead of celebrating their father's 66th birthday, Seward believed the sisters were left grappling with the fallout of his detention and its impact on each of their families' lives. She argued, "They'll be feeling incredibly angry with Andrew, and probably pretty cross with their mother as well. Her name has come up time and time again in the Epstein files, and it doesn't look good. They'll be asking how both their parents could be so stupid."
As for Ferguson, she has unsurprisingly kept a low profile and is expected to remain out of view. As scrutiny intensifies over her past ties to Epstein, she is said to have spent time with friends in the French Alps before travelling to the UAE, where she met with Eugenie. Her ex-husband's arrest casts uncertainty over her future. While she faces no allegations of wrongdoing or involvement in the matters that led to his detention, she is tainted by the same pariah status. An insider spilled, "Sarah will want to keep her head down. She is vulnerable because of her closeness to Andrew."
