Although Meghan Markle hasn’t made any public appearances in the UK since her return, she has certainly developed an enviable routine after the shocking move. Seemingly going back to old roots, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly taking Reformer Pilates classes at SOHO Farmhouse in Great Tew, Oxfordshire.

According to The Sun, Markle is using the Pilates lessons to “unwind” and “make new friends”. A source claimed that she “absolutely” loved the classes at the club’s Wellness Barn. Her reported exuberant demeanor would indicate as much. The Duchess is said to be “chatty and polite” during lessons, and everyone tries to give her “space”.

This is certainly not her first rodeo on the infamous reformer, a sliding machine consisting of pulleys and springs. Previously in the UK, she attended Pilates classes at Heartcore in London. While speaking about Megaformer Pilates, Markle said that it was “hands down the best thing” one could do for their body. "Your body changes immediately…give it two classes, and you will see a difference,” she said via Hello!

Her ties to fitness predate her royal role. In 2016, she talked about yoga being her “thing” and learning the practice from her mother, Doria Tagland. “Yoga is my thing. My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven. I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, 'Flower, you will find your practice – just give it time.' In college, I started doing it more regularly,” she explained. Reportedly, she even had a yoga studio made at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussexes’ residence in the UK before their 2020 departure.

Many A-list celebrities, including actresses such as Margot Robbie and Jennifer Aniston, choose Pilates as one of their favorite forms of exercise. And while Markle has been practicing the trendy, low-impact workouts for years, given the latest rumors of her return to acting, one can’t help but wonder if the recent Pilates classes are preparation for a powerful role in The Gentlemen season 3.

The Duchess was spotted in public a few times. Most recently, she was seen enjoying a meal with comedian Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia Rossi, at a couple of different occasions. Her close friend, Kelly McKee Zajfen, also shared subtle updates about the former Suits star’s time in the UK in an Instagram post showing her playing with Zajfen’s child, having fish and chips, and enjoying a drink with friends.
