Andrew’s Email to Beatrice and Eugenie Ahead of Royal Reunion Revealed — and It’s a Side We Rarely See
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly had some words of advice for his daughters ahead of Peter Phillips's wedding.
When the Royal Family gathered for the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, the guest list included a wide array of both senior and minor royals. Among them were Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who attended the high-profile celebration alongside their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank. Despite the constant scrutiny surrounding their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, the York sisters received a warm reception from the rest of the family at the event. Their attendance drew significant attention, serving as a high-profile reunion against the backdrop of ongoing controversies that continue to shadow the monarchy.
Right before the abovementioned major family gathering, Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly decided to reach out to his daughters, and he did so with words of encouragement. According to a source cited by the Daily Mail, the disgraced royal emailed both his daughters before the wedding and urged them to “hold their heads high” irrespective of the scandals surrounding him and Sarah Ferguson. The same source claimed that Mountbatten-Windsor influenced his daughters to walk down the road to the church entrance rather than arrive in a black car. He wanted to ensure they faced the occasion with confidence rather than wanting to avoid attention.
During the ceremony, their appearance did not go unnoticed. As she reflected on the sisters’ presence at the wedding, royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror: “I thought it was quite brave of Beatrice and Eugenie to show up knowing that the cameras would be on them.” She continued, “They've had a lot of highly critical press lately, and it can't have been easy for them to face the media.” Bond also noted that despite there being so many eyes on them, “they did seem to keep quite a low profile, particularly as the bridal party left the church.” Her comments showcased the delicate balance the sisters continue to maintain between fulfilling family obligations and constantly steering through the fallout of their parents' scandals.
While the royal family appeared to welcome the York sisters lovingly at the wedding, commentator Richard Fitzwilliams revealed their challenges are far from over. As he spoke to GB News, he shared, “This was a private royal event; therefore, it was natural that Beatrice and Eugenie attended and were warmly welcomed.” However, he cautioned, “Their problem remains that they are still in the eye of an unraveling storm, however unfairly, because of their parents, who are notorious.” His remarks shed light on the difficult position the sisters have found themselves in during their attempt to maintain their standing within the royal circle.
The scrutiny has emerged largely from the never-ending controversies involving Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. In October 2025, Charles stripped his younger brother and former sister-in-law of their titles, style, and honor. They were also evicted from Royal Lodge, their home for over three decades, after the former prince’s links with Jeffrey Epstein saw the light of day. By February 2026, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office and remains a central figure in the ongoing investigation. Yet, despite the gravity of their father's situation, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have weathered the storm, holding onto their titles and maintaining a warm, visible presence at major royal gatherings.
