A ‘Significant’ 2027 Milestone Could Bring Prince William and Prince Harry Face-to-Face
A royal author believes one major 2027 event might finally bring William and Harry together.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported return to the U.K. has raised many questions, especially about the strained relationship between the two brothers. Harry and Prince William have apparently not been in contact for two years now, but they might be forced to face each other on this "significant" day soon.
According to royal expert Robert Jobson, one significant event could eventually bring the estranged brothers together. He believes the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death in August 2027 may reunite the two, as the milestone will likely call for a joint commemoration.
Jobson told HELLO!, “The 30th anniversary is going to be quite significant, I think. The ownership of the Diana legacy is something I think Harry has been really pursuing; he's been to Angola, he's done more stuff in landmines as well.” He continued, “There’s going to be a moment where there has to be some form of arrangement for the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death. How can they not be together?”
While that reunion is still some way off, news of Sussex's return may have been a different matter for William. He was reportedly at Balmoral with King Charles when the news broke, taking it in alongside his father. “The prodigal son coming back will be difficult for him. Harry's move puts pressure on him to act in a more pragmatic way,” said Jobson.
Following a recent holiday in Britain with his family, Harry has returned to the U.K. alongside Meghan and their two children for an ‘extended’ stay. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are expected to begin at British schools this September. While the Duke is plans to focus on his charitable commitments, the Duchess is set to continue building her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
However, Harry and Markle are expected to stay outside London during their time in the U.K., but their security arrangements are still up in the air. Harry has reportedly asked Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to look at his security situation, having lost his legal challenge over taxpayer-funded protection. as the request is currently under review, it remains to be seen what level of security the Sussexes will have during their stay.
