Princess Kate is undoubtedly the face of the Royal Family and is rarely seen putting a foot wrong when in public. But before royal life came along, she had a much more carefree side. In 2008, Kate was clearly not afraid to have a little fun. At a charity roller disco in South London, she turned up in fluorescent yellow hot pants, a green sequined halterneck, and bright pink leg warmers, and then actually joined the skating action. Kate even took a tumble on the rink and got straight back up. She was dating Prince William at the time, but he skipped the roller disco event.

Before royal life, Kate clearly knew how to enjoy a night out. In February 2007, she was photographed leaving London’s Mahiki after a night at the popular club, with the pictures showing off a much more carefree Kate than we are used to seeing now. She was still dating William at the time, although they split just two months later. Kate’s clubbing days around this period became a regular fixture in the tabloids.

She headed to the opening-night afterparty for Afrika Afrika at London’s O2 Arena in a bold black-and-white leopard-print mini dress, sheer tights and heels, with a long black coat thrown over it.
