Royal Expert Claims Prince Harry is "Wooing" Uncle Earl Spencer for a Secret Diana Documentary

The Earl writes that one of his nephews is currently mulling over the idea of a film featuring his late sister's closest friends and loved ones. However, because he leaves the names out, it remains a guessing game as to whether Prince William or Prince Harry has been cajoling him behind closed doors into making a decision.
Royal expert Tom Sykes reportedly told Page Six that Harry has been "wooing" his uncle, Earl Spencer, amid speculation that he and Meghan Markle are producing a documentary about his late mother. Additionally, Sykes suggested that the Duke's actions might be motivated by a desire to obtain financial gains by collaborating with his uncle. "There is no denying [Spencer] is a big name, and he will give the documentary credibility. So [the Sussexes] need to woo him and get him onside," the royal expert stated. "What Harry and Meghan are actually doing back in the UK is finally revealed—they are making a Diana film, and Spencer is likely being lined up as its star."
Sykes further noted a strategic link behind Harry's alignment with Spencer's latest memoir, which features explosive allegations regarding King Charles's treatment of Princess Diana.
The royal expert further pointed out that the Sussexes have subtly shown support for Spencer in light of his controversial book, citing Markle's recent use of a swan emoji coinciding with the book's media rollout. He also mentioned Spencer's assertion that the Duke was "completely fine" with the publication. "He would not have made that comment unless he had been given the nod to say, in effect, that Harry and Meghan are behind it," Sykes highlighted.
"Money, rather than any deep emotional bond, is, I suspect, why Harry appears so close to the Spencer side of the family right now," he further claimed. Sykes explained that through the upcoming documentary, Harry is expected to position himself as "the true inheritor of Diana's legacy," aligning closely with her image as someone who stood against the rigid traditions of the royal family.
The royal expert believes the documentary's plot will heavily focus on high-stakes revelations about the royal family. However, he also drew parallels between Harry's criticism of the monarchy and Diana's treatment post-split from Charles, noting that many in the UK find the Duke's lingering resentment absurd given his privileges. Meanwhile, Kensington Palace issued a measured statement addressing William's stance, noting, "We wouldn't comment on how the Prince of Wales will mark the anniversary. William has been approached with many offers and is thinking hard about what he wants to do."
