Princess Anne is celebrated as the hardest-working member of the royal family, but it's her cheeky sense of humor that truly defines her spirit. Much like her late mother, Queen Elizabeth, she isn't afraid to crack a joke, livening even the most formal occasions. A resurfaced clip from her February visit to Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre has royal fans in stitches, where she compared a cake-cutting ceremony to 'legalised vandalism.' Royal watchers noted that her playful wit is a charming echo of the Queen's own legendary humor.

On February 8, 2024, The Princess Royal marked the 35th anniversary of the Pony Centre, where she was invited to cut the commemorative cake. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she joked with reporters, "I hope you all had a chance to see this cake because it really is stunning. The instructions are that you will eat it if I cut it. Otherwise, it's just legalised vandalism. So, enjoy the cake!" The crowd erupted with laughter, and royal fans were quick to highlight the sheer playfulness of her quip. Anne, who is Vice Patron of the British Horse Society (BHS), had toured the charity site alongside BHS President and actor Martin Clunes.

After Anne's cake-cutting video went viral on X, royal watchers couldn't stop comparing her wicked sense of humor to that of the late Queen. In that spirit, a netizen gushed, "She sounds so much like her mother." In a similar vein, another said, "She's her mother's daughter." Meanwhile, a fan noted, "She would have made a brilliant Queen." As the comments poured in, another beamed, "She's an amazing lady."

Shortly after the cake-cutting, Anne toured the stables and met with staff and young riders participating in programs that build confidence, life skills, and inclusion through interaction with horses. She watched demonstrations from participants in the BHS's Changing Lives Through Horses initiative and handed out medals to some of the riders. The Princess Royal spoke warmly with the center's founder, Sister Mary Joy Langdon, praising the exceptional impact the charity has had on the local community and the lives of many children and adults.

It comes as no surprise that Anne inherited her playful sense of humor from her mother, as the late Queen was renowned for her wit. Her former royal protection officer, Richard Griffin, once recalled a funny incident involving a group of American tourists who had no idea what the Queen of England looked like. Unlucky for them, they ended up asking the late monarch herself if she had ever met 'The Queen.' She jokingly answered, "Well, I haven't, but Dickie here meets her regularly," referring to Griffin by his nickname. After they clicked pictures and left, the Queen reportedly quipped, "I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he shows those photographs to friends in America. Hopefully, someone tells him who I am."
