Rare Photo of Archie Shows He’s Following in Harry’s Footsteps and Uncle William Would Be Proud
Promoting the new season of With Love, Meghan, Meghan Markle recently posted behind-the-scenes photos of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, enjoying on the Netflix set. One of the pictures captured Archie wearing a red t-shirt with GB Soccer School's official logo as he watched footage from his mother's show. GB Soccer School, based in Studio Centre, California, is a training centre, and it's no surprise that Archie is enrolled at the academy, given that it's a sport that dad Prince Harry and uncle Prince William grew up playing.
The training centre is approximately 70 miles from Montecito, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reside with their children. The school reposted Markle's photo with a football emoji. According to its website, it hosts group lessons for children aged 2-10 years, along with private lessons and summer camps. Archie's passion for soccer would surely make Uncle William proud across the pond, as both brothers are avid football fans and often took part in the annual Christmas matches held near Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
For Harry's part, the Duke of Sussex has long been passionate about football, supporting the team Arsenal and often joining friendly matches with friends and fellow royals. During his years at Sandringham, Harry and William usually played on opposite teams with friends and staff, as locals watched from nearby villages. The Prince has also used the sport for a good cause, supporting initiatives that promote community spirit, mental health awareness, and opportunities for young players. In the couple's 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry and Meghan, footage showed Harry kicking the ball while carrying Archie on his shoulders in the garden, foreshadowing a hobby in making.
As for William, the Prince of Wales strongly supports the Ashton Villa F.C. but has a soft spot for Arsenal like Harry. William has spoken about watching football matches with his children in a March 2025 interview with The Sun. He said, "If I’m home alone with the children...I do have a bit of superstition about where I sit when I’m watching them. If we’re not doing very well, I start moving around the house quite quickly, and I put the children in different positions, hoping that’s going to change our luck." He also revealed that Prince George supports the Ashton Villa F.C. team, like him. He added, "I’m trying not to be biased, but obviously, they see how passionate I am about it, and they watch the matches with me."
Coming back to Markle's Instagram photos of her children, other snaps featured Archie holding a filming clapperboard and Lilibet sitting in the director’s chair, with their faces tactfully covered. She captioned the post, "Filming season two of With Love, Meghan was more fun than you can imagine. Part of how we kept the vibe alive? Music. Between setups, I would play a song from my phone, and today I wanted to share some of the favorites I kept on rotation!"
