Queen Camilla has stood by King Charles through some of his most difficult times and is his closest confidant. The two have remained each other’s support systems for decades as Charles' marriage with Princess Diana crumbled and he went head to head against the Queen, who initially refused a divorce. Now, insiders believe that Camilla's influence over the monarch is so much so that she is pushing him to make some changes to his will. While Prince William may benefit from a revised will, it is not likely to sit well with Prince Harry who will get the short end of the stick.

According to Marca, insiders spilled that Camilla is forcing Charles to rethink the allocation of his huge portfolio of properties and other assets. She is allegedly acting as a gatekeeper, and if a revision happens, it is believed it will also factor in Camilla's heirs. William and Kate Middleton, as the future King and Queen of Britain, are already set to inherit most of Charles’s wealth. Naturally, their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will also benefit from the restructuring of the will. The King taking such a step would largely affect his second son, Harry, amid their ongoing feud. If revised, the Duke of Sussex’s share may be minimised. The father-son relationship was strained when Harry and Meghan Markle made explosive revelations about the royal family. Despite Harry’s recent efforts to reconcile, the two remain estranged with no signs of a reunion. It is also unclear if Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will inherit anything from Charles’s fortune.

Another family member who would gain from a new will is Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles, as, besides being the King’s stepson, he is also his godson. Sources have claimed that Parker Bowles is being considered to inherit a good share of the King’s fortune, thanks to his mother. This would mark a great shift of power within the monarchy, reflecting the importance of Camila and her son while the alienation of Harry and his family.

Charles and Parker Bowles share an amicable relationship. The 50-year-old food writer has often mentioned how he is a fan of Charles’s and his charities, as well as how he treats his mother. During an interview with Hello! magazine, Parker Bowles described the King as “the kindest, most knowledgeable, lovely man.” Heaping praise on his stepfather, he said, “He is someone you can ask about food, and it's like asking an academic. He's trodden every corner of his kingdom; he knows farming – he's a farming hero.” When asked about his views on the King and Queen as a team, Parker described them to be ‘well suited.’ He opined, “They're very well suited. They work well together, and we're happy that our mother's happy."
