Princess Beatrice and Eugenie Snubbed by Taylor Swift at London Bash: Report
With Poppy Delevingne's party packed with celebrities, insiders say Taylor Swift used the crowd to keep her distance from the York sisters.
It doesn't take much to connect the dots on why being seen with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in the current environment would be a bad idea. Singer Taylor Swift seemingly understood that when she reportedly avoided the York sisters at Poppy Delevingne's star-studded 40th birthday party in London on May 7. With the event packed with royals, models, and A-list celebrities, sources say Swift used it to her advantage to keep her distance and avoid headlines linking her to the Epstein scandal.
On his Substack, Naughty But Nice, royal columnist Rob Shuter cited insider accounts on what exactly went down behind the scenes at the birthday bash. He quoted one as having said, "Of course, Eugenie and Beatrice would have loved to meet Taylor. But Taylor was having absolutely no part of it." According to Shuter, Swift was fully aware of the damaging optics surrounding Beatrice and Eugenie and their parents' shady associations and intentionally chose to steer clear. Despite reports claiming that the princesses mingled with Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce, Shuter's sources insist it never happened.
Against that backdrop, an insider explained, "Taylor is one of the smartest celebrities in the world when it comes to protecting her image. She didn't want photographs, headlines, or even casual gossip linking her to royal controversy and Jeffrey Epstein." However, they insisted that her 'strategic' snub was more to protect her image than a personal vendetta. They added, "This wasn't Taylor being rude. She was polite to everyone, but she knows exactly what stories she wants attached to her name—and this wasn't one of them." Guests at the party also spilled that Swift and Kelce took advantage of the 300+ attendees to stick to their circle. "They [Swift and Kelce] were relaxed, affectionate, and very careful about who they interacted with."
For Delevigne's star-studded party at Marylebone's Hart pub, Beatrice and Eugenie proudly stepped out in glamorous fashion alongside their husbands, with Eugenie flaunting her baby bump. The amazing line-up of celebrities, along with Swift and Kelce, included her younger sister Cara Delevingne, Lily James, Nicky Hilton, Isla Fisher, Georgia May Jagger, Damian Hurley, Pixie Geldof, and Emma Weymouth Rothschild. The celebration reportedly carried a luxurious atmosphere, with stylish cocktails, upbeat music, and nonstop mingling keeping the energy high throughout the night.
As for Delevingne's long-standing friendship with Beatrice and Eugenie, she knows the princesses very well and has mingled with them through London's fashion and aristocratic scene. The friendship is especially strong through Poppy's younger sister, Cara, who has known Eugenie since childhood and once said they were friends "since I was a kid." Develigne was also present for Eugenie's 2018 royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. She attended alongside Cara and other friends from the fashion world, including models Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.
