Prince William Set to Make Surprise Appearance Hours Before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding
Before the rumored MSG wedding kicks off, Prince William is set to make his presence felt, albeit physically.
Rumor mills are abuzz that pop queen Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are set to tie the knot on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York. But before the festivities begin, Prince William is set to make a surprise appearance hours before their speculated wedding day. The beloved royal will appear on Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s popular podcast, The New Heights Show. While the entire episode will be released at Noon ET on Friday, the podcast’s Instagram page has unveiled a teaser. If the trailer’s any indication, the actual episode is going to be royally iconic.
Jason welcomed William in his own style with a rallying introduction, saying via The Daily Express, “Our guest today is the six-foot-three Prince from London, England. That's right, the President of the English Football Association, the Vice-Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of Cornwall, the Lord of the Isles, Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, Earl of Chester, and the Prince of Wales, please welcome his Royal Highness, Prince William!”
The introduction prompted the Prince of Wales to chuckle as he replied, “That is quite an intro, guys. Amazing!” to which Jason said, “We had to do it big for ya. We had to do it big!” The guest's appearance has come amid speculation that William and his wife, Kate Middleton, might attend Swift and Travis’s upcoming wedding. However, it was earlier reported that the wales might skip the pop star's wedding, physically, but they have found another way to make their presence felt.
A month ago, William had appeared on the British radio show, ‘Heart Breakfast’, when he was asked whether he was attending the wedding. At the time, the prince had said, as per PEOPLE, “No comment. I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.” William being invited to Swift’s wedding won’t be much of a surprise, as the two go back a long way. During a 2013 gala dinner, the royal and the singer-songwriter had sung Livin' on a Prayer with Jon Bon Jovi at Kensington. And William had taken his kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley in 2024, the same night as his birthday. It was at the concert that the future King of England had also met Travis.
The NFL tight end had spoken about the royal meeting during a podcast episode and was all praise for William, calling him the “coolest motherf*****” as per Page Six. “He was there with little George and Charlotte,” he added, “They were absolutely a delight to meet. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hands, like, ‘Sup, dude.’ We wanted to be polite.” Jason, who was also reportedly present at the venue, clarified that since it was not a royal event, they were not expected to bow.
During his radio appearance, William had mentioned that Charlotte and Prince Louis were Swifties. And the young princess’s fangirl side is often on display when she sports handmade friendship bracelets. The Prince of Wales and King Charles also often style their friendship bracelets. The Wales kids must certainly be excited about William’s upcoming surprise guest appearance.
