Prince William and Kate Middleton Reportedly Plan to "Do Nothing" Ahead of Sussex U.K. Move
Prince William and Kate Middleton aren’t fazed by Harry and Meghan’s reported move back to the U.K.
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reported announcement about their grand move back to the U.K. with their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, every member of the Royal family seems to be dealing with the news in their own ways. Even though this was completely shocking for Princess Kate and Prince William, who were apparently blindsided by the situation, they reportedly seem to be handling it in a rather healthy manner. According to insiders who spoke to Rob Shuter on his Substack, Naughty But Nice, the Prince and Princess of Wales have decided to sideline Harry and Markle’s move completely and simply do nothing about it.
According to these reports, the Prince & Princess of Wales are convinced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not actually moving back to Harry’s homeland permanently. In fact, they reportedly view this as a temporary trial that will barely last six months. William and Kate believe time is on their side, especially regarding their standing within the royal family. While discussing this in detail, a Palace insider exclaimed, “William and Kate play the long game!” before adding, “They’re not going to fight them, brief against them, or get dragged into another Sussex circus. Their attitude is simple: sit back, wait, and see what actually happens.”
Beyond this, sources have noted that Meghan is primarily motivated by potential professional opportunities in the U.K., which she is reportedly eager to pursue. That was precisely the case with the rumored acting offer. Sources later clarified there was never an official job offer—only a potential lead. Elaborating on this, one insider explained, “There was never a signed, sealed acting job. Meghan wants it badly, but this was always a possibility, not a done deal.” Another insider added, “If the opportunity was filming in Canada, they’d be talking about Canada; Britain is about the potential work. For Harry, the bonus is spending more time near his family.”
This is another reason William and Middleton seem unconcerned about the Duke and Duchess making this grand move. Apparently, they believe the Sussexes have a tendency to go above and beyond to create chaos and blockages for themselves. Therefore, their plan for dealing with Harry and Markle is to just hold on, do nothing, and keep watching. An insider echoed this, stating, “William has enormous confidence in Harry and Meghan’s ability to create their own problems. Why interfere? Every time there’s chaos around them, William and Kate look calmer, stronger, and more dependable.” However, neither the Waleses nor their representatives have made an official comment on these claims.
