Prince Harry Reportedly Has a New Documentary in the Works — Days Before His UK Outing With Meghan
Prince Harry is all set to mark his UK return with an explosive new documentary, with Meghan right by his side.
Prince Harry is all set to mark his UK return with an explosive new documentary, and it comes just days before he steps out with Meghan Markle for their first joint UK engagement since returning to the country. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly teaming up with Baroness Doreen Lawrence for a project believed to focus on race relations in the UK. Meanwhile, reports suggest Harry is also planning a separate documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana. Seems like the Duke has a lot in the pipeline.
As per a recent report by Hello!, Harry has joined forces with Lawrence, the mother of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence, for the new documentary. However, the BBC project has not yet been confirmed for broadcast, and details about its exact involvement and the release date are still under wraps. Revealing details about the project, an insider told the outlet, "He (Harry) has and will always support Baroness Lawrence in whatever way he can. She asked him to be a part of it, and he was happy to."
The duo has previously teamed up during his legal battle against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail. The pair joined forces in the case but suffered a defeat in July. Following the outcome, they described the result as a "complete and obvious whitewash". That said documentary is not all; Harry is reportedly planning another documentary dedicated to his mother, Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
According to reports, Netflix is among the potential platforms for the project, which could be released next year to mark the 30th anniversary of her death. Harry is said to have reached out to friends and family to contribute to the documentary. However, his older brother, Prince William, has reportedly declined several offers to participate.
As per The Times, William wants to avoid being "pitted against" Harry. Friends of the Prince of Wales also described next year's anniversary as "a difficult situation for him", adding that he remains "really emotional" about his mother's death. The documentary news comes ahead of Harry and Markle's first expected joint visit to Nottingham on Thursday. The city holds special significance for the couple, as they made their first joint appearance there after announcing their engagement in 2017.
