The delay was reportedly tied to a crucial turning point: Archie and Lilibet's education, which remains a central priority in their children's lives.
Furthermore, according to the latest reports by InStyle, it seems like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had to sit back and wait for Lilibet and Archie to get accepted into schools in their father's homeland. Despite their global fame, Harry and Markle still had to go ahead and wait for this acceptance, like any other parents, a detail that resonated with families worldwide. In fact, according to a report in The Times, “Harry and Meghan had been privately discussing returning to the U.K. for a couple of years, but the final decision was only made just before they told the king a week ago.”
According to reports, the schooling system in Britain is often described as one of the “greatest equalisers of the nation,” an experience the Sussexes shared firsthand. In fact, the report also added, “They had to wait to be told whether or not their children had got in—just like many other people waiting in mid-August.” But that’s not all; they further explained, “They weren’t able to confirm their plans until very late in the day, because the school—rightly—works to their own timetable. There was no special treatment at all.” While their plans are now finalized, details regarding where the Sussex family will reside and which schools Archie and Lilibet will attend are deliberately being kept private.
However, it has been reported that Archie and Lilibet will attend as "day pupils" starting this September. Beyond their schooling, the move brings the children closer to their grandparents, King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as their extended family—including their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. According to HOLA!, this could hint at a potential reunion for the five cousins, who have grown up apart so far. Still, none of these claims have been finalized or confirmed by representatives for either the Sussexes or the Waleses.
