Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK Return Driven by U.S. Visa Troubles, Insiders Claim
Prince Harry’s homeland has apparently turned into a much-needed safety net for him and his family.
Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s announcement regarding their reported relocation to the UK, the couple claimed the decision came from a need to reconnect with their community and family, as well as to prioritize their children’s education and future. However, insiders, who recently spoke to Rob Shuter on his Naughty But Nice Substack, seem to have a different opinion about their ‘homecoming.’ They suggest another major motive is driving this unexpected decision: the Duke’s unresolved U.S. immigration and visa issues, which have allegedly been putting Harry’s citizenship in the United States at risk.
Furthermore, this situation has reportedly escalated into something that Harry just does not have any control over. While discussing this with Shuter, a source close to the couple explained, “The visa issue has become a cloud Harry simply cannot control. As long as people are fighting to see those records, there’s uncertainty. Establishing a life in Britain gives him something America currently doesn’t—certainty.” According to reports, this issue ended up blowing out of proportion because of the Duke's admission to past drug use in his memoir, Spare, which raised serious questions regarding the details disclosed on his official U.S. immigration paperwork.
Alas, even after attempting to address the matter, these questions continue to pose a threat to Harry and his family. The situation was blown further out of proportion when the Heritage Foundation got involved, attempting to access Harry’s immigration records to prove he received special treatment. The foundation’s director, Nile Gardiner, has also publicly questioned the motive behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s sudden move. While sources seem to agree that Harry’s family, his children, and Markle’s career all played a part in their decision, they reportedly believe that the immigration issue was what ultimately sealed the deal.
Ultimately, following all the controversies surrounding these issues, it seems Harry’s homeland has become the Sussexes’ much-needed "Plan B." Adding context to the move, another source noted, “Harry isn’t necessarily running from America!” They explained, “He’s making sure America can never leave him without options. Britain is his insurance policy.” As of yet, neither the Duke and Duchess of Sussex nor their official representatives have commented on these claims.
