Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may need to be in close proximity to the Royal Family, that’s according to a top expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced their intention to move back to the UK within the coming days. Their two children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, 5, will be enrolled in local schools with a September start date. It was also been reported that Meghan, 45, is also set to make her acting comeback in an upcoming UK-based project.

Speaking exclusively to the Royal Observer, Bronte Coy from News.com.au told me the news of their sensational return to the UK might be partially because their US ambitions haven’t panned out the way the couple might have hoped. “I know they love Montecito as an area, and I know that Harry loves being able to go out and surf and the community there,” she remarked. “But I don't think it's become it wasn't it wasn't exactly as they planned it or tried out in the initial years, and that's true, we've seen it.”

The couple previously signed a reported $20million dollar deal with audio streaming giant Spotify. Bill Simmons - who is head of podcast innovation and monetisation at the company - infamously blasted the couple as 'F-[expletive] grifters'. Meanwhile, after a number of projects which include two series of With Love, Meghan, the pair had revised their initial exclusive deal with Netflix. After negotiations, they agreed to move forward with the streaming giant as they managed to secure a first-look agreement.

She continued: “The deals didn't work out how they thought. It's obviously not going to be able to fund them forever, so there's that aspect. Harry really misses aspects of the UK. He really wants to have a bit, like a closer relationship with his father, and geographically that plays a big role and with the Spencer’s, that's a really important part, and the broader family.”

However, Bronte also told the Royal Observer that when it comes to the pair’s future commercial opportunities, closer adjacency to the firm - which includes members of their family such as The King - would only benefit the pair. “Meghan is now looking at her next options, and she wants to go back into acting,” Coy stated. “But all of that can be true, and we can also say they're not stupid, we're not stupid.”

She continued: “Being in closer proximity to the crown and in the UK, whether you love them or hate them, you are interested in them. … It's the proximity to the crown, so all of these things can be true.”

Adding: “We can have the cynical elements of it being accurate. We're aware their brand is stronger if they're closer to the royals. Of course, it is. We know that, they know that. It would be crazy to say that that's not part of the story. But I do think that it's always good to be able to iron out all the threads of this.
