Meghan Markle faces backlash again, just days after being criticized over her 'insensitive' video driving past the tunnel where Princess Diana tragically lost her life. During her appearance at Paris Fashion Week on October 4, she enjoyed a front-row seat at Balenciaga’s spring-summer 2026 show. It was at this event that Markle was caught on video laughing when a model allegedly tripped on the ramp. As the clip went viral, royal watchers blasted Markle for her catty behavior, calling her out for mocking someone.

@rvealingthenarc All the world is a stage and every moment is a performance 😳 She’s the only one laughing. Markus doesn’t even crack a smile. Makes me wonder if this is another example of her ridiculing someone… #MeghanMarkleExposed #meghanmarkleisanarcissist ♬ original sound - 𝐔𝐧𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧

The Duchess of Sussex made her debut at the Paris Fashion Week to support the new creative director of Balenciaga, Pierpaolo Piccioli, looking elegant in a long-sleeved tunic with a flowing cape and matching pants. During the Balenciaga fashion show, after Markle burst into laughter, she turned to her friend, Mark Anderson. After seeing his stoic reaction, she quickly covered her mouth with her hand and stopped giggling. While fans believed Markle laughed at the model, her representative has since denied this claim, Page Six reported.

As the clip went viral on TikTok, royal watchers couldn’t help but call out the Duchess for her rude behavior. A critic slammed, "Look how disappointed she looks when she realized she shouldn't have laughed." Another echoed, "Apparently, a model tripped and she’s the only one who laughed. The guy next to her wasn’t impressed." A netizen slammed, "She's so hard to like." As the comments poured in, a fan, however, reasoned, "Everyone in the comments acting as though they wouldn’t laugh if they saw someone fall over."

Royal expert Charlotte Griffiths was the first to allege that Markle laughed at the model during the show. She told the Daily Mail, "She did seem a little bit out of place in Paris, if I'm going to be honest. She seemed a bit nervous. At one point, she sat in the front row, and a model tripped. She burst out laughing. And then she obviously realized that was quite a cruel thing to do, so she sort of covered it up. She did seem quite poised, but she did seem a little bit nervous there." After her appearance, the Duchess was soon embroiled in another controversy following the afterparty.

Shortly after the event, Markle filmed herself on her way back, driving along the banks of the Seine at night. On her Instagram stories, she was seen entering the Pont Alexandre III bridge before her vehicle turned to the Pont de l'Alma tunnel, the same tunnel where Princess Diana had tragically passed. As the bridge arrived, she casually put her feet up on the passenger seat, leading royal fans to dub her ‘insensitive’, considering the tunnel's dark history.
