Meghan Markle recently shared a sweet poolside moment of Princess Lilibet with her grandmother, Doria Ragland. The sun-kissed clip, featuring four-year-old Lilibet swimming, taken at their Montecito backyard pool home in California, was posted on Markle's Instagram Stories on Sunday, January 18.

The video panned slowly across the Sussex’s backyard, revealing outdoor chairs and a bin filled with chalk ready for artwork, before moving toward the pool. It briefly captured Lilibet in water with Ragland, a laid-back family moment that segued into wider shots of the property. The video also lingered on two palm trees connected at their base, a detail that carries personal meaning for Markle and Prince Harry.

Markle had previously explained the significance of the trees in a 2022 interview with The Cut. Recalling the moment they toured the home, the Duchess had said, “One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees. See how they’re connected at the bottom? He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’” The trees offered a seamless transition into other family-centered clips, grounding the sunny visuals in personal meaning.

Additional stories showed Lilibet holding a handwritten farmer’s market list decorated with colorful illustrations, while Prince Archie appeared in another clip feeding leaves to a rhino; his face turned away from the cameras. Markle had also shared a video of herself feeding lettuce to a giraffe, with the caption: "The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens."

The stories balanced playful childhood moments with Markle and Harry’s consistent efforts to maintain their children’s privacy.  A few days before, Markle had shared a familiar yet affectionate video of her and Harry dancing barefoot on grass on her Instagram. She wrote, 'our daughter' in the credits to reveal it was Lilibet who had captured that loving moment between her parents. The post appeared alongside a throwback photo from one of the couple’s earliest dates in Botswana in 2016, captioned, “When 2026 feels just like 2016….you had to be there.” The nostalgic tone mirrored Markle’s return to Instagram and her broader storytelling around family life.

Markle also features that side prominently in her lifestyle brand, As Ever, through newsletters and social media posts alike. Earlier this month, she had shared her New Year's reflection with her subscribers in a message titled, "Pop the bubbly." In her note, she mentioned, “When the clock strikes midnight, we’ll be celebrating right along with you... Glasses raised, bottles of bubbly popping, and confetti in the air — only in our case, it’s Flower Sprinkles falling instead.” The Duchess has chosen to share carefully curated glimpses of her family life in Montecito, blending motherhood, memory, and meaning. This time, it was led by a simple sunlit swim between Lilibet and Grandma Ragland.
