Meghan Markle Seemingly Puts Kris Jenner ‘Photogate’ Drama to Rest With Latest Move
Meghan Markle and Kris Jenner appear to have put ‘Photogate’ rumors behind them after a warm new Mother’s Day exchange
Amid circulating reports of Meghan Markle’s series of ‘friendship’ fallouts, Kris Jenner has seemingly shut down the rumors. In a recent Instagram story, Jenner thanked Markle for gifts sent from the latter’s lifestyle brand, As Ever. This came as a surprise after the momager removed photos of the Duke and the Duchess attending her birthday party last year from her social media, famously labelled 'photogate' by netizens online.
Jenner mentioned Markle on her post, writing, “Thank you @meghan @aseverofficial for the beautiful Mother's Day gifts! These candles smell so delicious!! Happy Mother's Day!!!” Alongside candles from Markle’s brand, Jenner also received a handwritten Mother’s Day note. It said, “Dear Kris, Happy Mother’s Day to the most maternal woman in the world.” The Suits star also included chocolates from As Ever’s collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés, including candles inspired by the birthdays of Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie.
Jenner's birthday party—a James Bond-themed bash, hosted at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos’ Beverly Hills mansion on November 8, 2025—initially included photos of Jenner with the royal couple. It also included a separate snap of Kim Kardashian posing with the Duchess. But fans later realized the pictures had disappeared from social media.
However, Jenner’s birthday fell on the eve of Remembrance Sunday in the UK, which is to honor armed forces members who died in the line of duty. It is a somber tradition of the royal family, and Harry also wore a poppy pin to signify it. But the couple seemingly received backlash for their glitzy night out.
Kim Kardashian soon clarified the ‘fallout’ speculations on her sister’s podcast, Khloe in Wonderland. She said, “It was really innocent, which is so crazy.” The makeup mogul continued, “I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down. And then I think they realized, like, 'Oh, this was so silly.’”
Recently, rumors have also been swirling around the fallout between Markle and her longtime friend Serena Williams. It started when Williams was seen getting cozy with Emma Thynn and Edward Enninful at the Met Gala 2026. The sighting raised eyebrows among royal fans due to ongoing reports of Markle’s tensions with Enninful and Thynn over recent years. Seeing the tennis star hanging out with the two has certainly led to questions about her friendship with the Duchess.
Furthermore, the As Ever owner has also been left out of the Met Gala guest list. Apparently, Anna Wintour was behind the decision, as she has close ties with King Charles and is not particularly fond of Markle.
