Meghan Markle Lands Job Offer at Her Favorite Radio Station — Is a UK Return On the Cards?

Meghan Markle could soon return to the UK, not to reunite with her estranged in-laws, but for an exciting new job opportunity. The Duchess of Sussex has been offered a role at her favorite radio station after recently expressing her love for Magic Radio on her Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan. When Magic Radio’s director, Paul Sylvester, came across Markle’s glowing review about the channel, he extended a gracious invitation for her to host a show, sparking speculation that she could be back across the pond sooner than expected.

It all began when British-American fashion designer Tan France asked Markle — on Season 2 of her lifestyle show — about what she missed the most in the UK. She replied, "Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the UK is the radio station called Magic." In response, Sylvester, who was clearly flattered, said at Radiocentre's Tuning In conference, "The offer is on the table: if the Duchess wants to host a show, she's very welcome." Doubling down on his invite, he tweeted, "I did say exactly this," in response to a netizen quoting him on the offer.

While Markle has yet to respond to Sylvester’s offer, royal watchers already have a sense of what her hosting style might be. When France joked about Magic Radio being ‘such a grandma station,’ she retorted, "I’ll be that grandma. My favorite station in my car is called Mom Jeans. These are throwback, great sing-alongs, you forget they existed. I love it."
As for her returning to the UK, she was last in the country in September 2022 for a series of royal engagements and ended up staying longer for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. Reflecting on that visit, Markle told her guest how much she missed her children during that time.

Her conversation with France wasn't the only instance in which Markle spoke about her love for radio. In an interview with PEOPLE, she once gushed, "If you like soft vintage rock and pop hits from the late '80s and early '90s from artists like Cher, Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, and Dan Hartman, then the SiriusXM app-exclusive channel Mom Jeans is the perfect fit." She revealed that Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie often get on the fun and listen to the radio with her during car rides. "Now for drop off and pick up, even Lili will say, 'Can we listen to Mama Jeans?' I’m like, 'It’s Mom Jeans, but yes, we sure can!'"
As tempting as Markle’s new job offer sounds, she is reportedly not keen to return to the UK, unlike Prince Harry. In his book, Endgame, royal author Omid Scobie claimed that the Duchess doesn’t wish to go back because she never felt comfortable living there. Meanwhile, the Duke has expressed interest in bringing Archie and Lilibet to the UK to meet their grandfather, King Charles.
