Meghan Markle Opens Up About What She Misses Most About Being in the UK: ‘I Love…’

In 2020, Meghan Markle bid farewell to the pomp and circumstance of royal life in the UK when she stepped down as a senior royal alongside Prince Harry. Since then, the Duchess of Sussex has made Montecito her home, where she lives a relatively low-key life with Harry and their two children. While she seems to enjoy life on the West Coast, Markle recently admitted she still misses the UK. In Season 2 of her Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan, she told guest Tan France that she fondly remembers listening to Magic Radio back home.

As reported by PEOPLE, while chatting with the Queer Eye star on her cooking show, Markle revealed, "Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the U.K. is the radio station called Magic." France quipped, "Wow. Now, um, sorry to say this to you publicly, but that’s such a grandma station." She replied, "My favorite station in my car is called Mom Jeans. These are throwback, great sing-alongs, you forget they existed. I love it." The Duchess last visited the UK with Harry in September 2022 for charitable engagements and Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, without her children.

Speaking of her last visit, Markle also told her guest how much she missed Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet during that time. Reflecting on their nearly three-week separation, which was extended due to the late Queen's funeral, she shared, "You want to be the parent who’s like, 'Yes, go do it. Go do your thing...But I’m going to miss you so much.' ...The longest I went without being around our kids was almost three weeks. I was not well." France agreed and said, "I need my boys. If I don’t see them for a couple of days, I feel like my heart is broken."
In a previous interview with PEOPLE, the Duchess had also shared her affinity for Mom Jeans, a SiriusXM radio station, alongside her obsession with Magic Radio. She spilled, "If you like soft vintage rock and pop hits from the late '80s and early '90s from artists like Cher, Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, and Dan Hartman, then the SiriusXM app-exclusive channel Mom Jeans is the perfect fit." She shared that Archie and Lilibet often get on the fun and listen to the radio with her during car rides. She spilled, "Now for drop off and pick up, even Lili will say, 'Can we listen to Mama Jeans?' I’m like, 'It’s Mom Jeans, but yes, we sure can!'"

Coming back to her Season 2 episode with France, according to The Independent, the duo shared a lighthearted moment when he made fun of Markle's affinity for flower sprinkles. He quipped, "What was that you just added?...Wow, that’s the gayest s*** I’ve seen in a long time," prompting Markle to burst into laughter. In the episode, she also revealed that she fell in love with Harry on their third date in Botswana.
