Meghan Markle Drops the Perfect Prince Harry Joke While Posing With an Adorable Redhead Baby
Meghan Markle playfully referenced Prince Harry while posing with a redheaded baby, beating online speculation to the punch.
Meghan Markle could not resist cracking a joke while posing with an adorable baby. The Duchess of Sussex was captured sharing a sweet moment with her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen’s 11-month-old son, Jack Oliver. The precious redhead is the youngest child of Zajfen and her husband, Julian.
Markle went on Instagram and posted a picture of herself snuggling the baby boy and giving him a sweet kiss on the head. However, it was the caption that stole all the attention. She wrote, “We know I love a redhead. And let me stop you before they start, no, it's not his baby,” along with a laughing emoji. Zajfen later reposted both Instagram Stories to her own account and seemed amused by the joke, responding simply with a "Hahahahahhahahahahah. It was certainly a playful nod to Harry's trademark red hair and also a subtle dig at the endless gossip cycles. Instead of waiting for the comparisons to roll in, Markle got there first with a cheeky disclaimer of her own.
And it is not the first time that the Suits actress took matters into her own hands and addressed online speculations head-on. She previously responded to the reaction surrounding personal social media posts rather than letting the rumor mill do the talking. Last year, after sharing a video of herself and Harry dancing in a hospital room before Lilibet's birth, some conspiracy theorists falsely claimed she was wearing a fake baby bump.
Markle later defended posting the clip, saying it gave people a real look at her life. Speaking on the Aspire podcast, she said, “Did you see my “Baby Momma” dance? That wasn’t yesterday; that was four years ago. It’s a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life—a real, authentic, fun life—that's happening behind the scenes.” She further added, “I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”
To celebrate Lilibet’s fifth birthday, Meghan treated fans to two never-before-seen photos of the youngster on Instagram. One sweet snapshot showed a tender family moment between the couple and Lilibet, captioned with a loving tribute calling her "our dream girl." The other photo captured the five-year-old barefoot in a vibrant garden, reaching for purple flowers. Meghan kept the birthday tradition alive for Prince Archie's seventh birthday as well, sharing a handful of equally rare, unseen family images.
