King Charles’ US Itinerary Just Dropped — And It Includes a Block Party
The upcoming U.S. visit will see King Charles attend a Virginia block party as part of his schedule.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will be making their first-ever U.S. trip as monarchs in late April 2026. It comes as America marks 250 years of independence, dating back to when King Charles’s ancestor, King George III, was on the throne. As plans for their highly anticipated trip continue to unfold, a block party has also been included in the itinerary, per a report by PEOPLE. The block party will take place in Virginia, where the royal couple will join celebrations for the country’s 250th birthday.
On April 14, Buckingham Palace formally shared more details from Charles and Camilla’s upcoming trip. It is set to run from April 27 to 30 before they continue to Bermuda. A key stop will be Washington, D.C., where they will be welcomed by Donald Trump and Melania Trump for a private tea. A garden party is also on the schedule, where guests will come together to celebrate the long-standing bond between the U.S. and the U.K.
Later that evening, the King and Queen will be part of a formal welcome, complete with a military display, before going their separate ways for a bit. Charles will sit down with Donald Trump, while Camilla spends time with Melania Trump. He is also set to address Congress—a rare moment for a British monarch, last done by Queen Elizabeth II. The night ends with a formal state dinner at the White House. While the couple is in Washington, D.C., they will also take a moment to honor fallen service members with a wreath-laying ceremony.
Next up is New York City, and the couple will pay tribute to those who died in the September 11 attacks and spend time with first responders and families ahead of the 25-year mark. They will split briefly here again as Charles will check out a grassroots project helping kids dealing with food insecurity through urban farming, alongside meeting business leaders. Meanwhile, Camilla will attend a literature event, including a nod to Winnie the Pooh turning 100.
They will reunite again to wrap up the New York leg of their trip with a reception. It will spotlight the work of The King's Trust and its impact on young people across the U.S.Following this, the King and Queen will travel to Virginia, where they will attend a block party to celebrate the United States' 250th birthday. Charles will also make a stop at a national park, where he will meet a local Indigenous community involved in conservation work, while Camilla heads to a farm to spotlight the U.S. horse racing scene.
Royal expert Samara Gill previously said on the Sun Royal Exclusive that the U.S. visit will be one of the most important tasks as a monarch. She explained, “I mean, we’ve got the world on a knife’s edge at the moment, sort of teetering on World War Three. I’m not trying to be overdramatic here. But yes, Trump is unpredictable… the King is pretty much the only person that he actually listens to.”
