King Charles Left in Stitches as Mike Tindall Suffers Fashion Mishap at Royal Ascot — Watch
King Charles shared a laugh with Mike Tindall during a candid Royal Ascot moment that quickly caught attention.
Royal Ascot kicked off in style on June 16, with the Royal Family turning out in their finest glam for opening day. But amid all the usual pomp and high fashion, it was a candid, heartwarming interaction between King Charles and Mike Tindall that caught the eyes of many royal fans.
As King Charles mingled in the Royal Enclosure, he paused to chat with Zara Tindall. Her husband, Mike Tindall, stepped up next, removing his top hat as a formal sign of respect. But during this greeting, Mike seemingly dropped something, leading to a witty exchange between the two. While he was quick to pick up the mystery object from the ground, the moment did not go unnoticed by the King. Charles seemed to ask about what had fallen, and before long, the pair were seen chatting and sharing a laugh. While it is still unclear exactly what the object was, the light-hearted exchange certainly caught the attention of royal fans. Watch the video here!
If there is one person who knows how to survive a day at Royal Ascot, it is Mike Tindall. The former rugby star has attended the famous racing event more times than most, so it is safe to say he has learned a thing or two along the way. Recently, he sat down with host Tom Chamberlin for a chat about all things Ascot, sharing some of the dos and don'ts of the event.
And among the fashion rules and race-day traditions, he had one particularly memorable piece of advice for fellow attendees. He said, “Never leave your hat in the toilet and forget about it. They're not cheap, and people know that.” He continued, “If it's too hot, it's a bit of a nightmare. The sweat is ongoing. Don't take the hat off, or it's like, a pool of water drops out.”
For anyone unfamiliar with Royal Ascot, it is far more than just a horse-racing event. Held over five days every June, the annual gathering brings together the Royal Family, celebrities, racing fans, and some seriously eye-catching fashion, all in one place.
One of the biggest highlights of the event is the Royal Procession, where the King and other royals make their grand arrival in horse-drawn carriages before the day's racing gets underway. Mike explained, “You jump in cars, the fleet of cars they use is very old, historical, good old-fashioned sort of cars, state cars, and they take you to the edge of the Great Park. It's about a 20-minute carriage ride from start to finish.”
Joining senior royals like Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate, the newest member of the family also took part in the festivities. Peter Phillips' wife, Harriet Sperling, rode in the traditional procession with her mother-in-law, Princess Anne, with both delivering a masterclass in high-fashion elegance.
