King Charles and Queen Camilla Cap Off Caribbean Tour with Fashion, Humor, and Hibiscus Gin
King Charles and Queen Camilla are wrapping up the tour in true royal fashion.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are finally wrapping up their nine-day Autumn tour of the Caribbean. The King made some unforgettable memories in The Bahamas, Guyana, and Antigua and Barbuda, while the Queen, who joined him for the final leg, thoroughly enjoyed her time as well. The vibrant culture, exceptional hospitality, unique experiences, and remarkable talent of the local youth showed the royal couple what makes these nations so special. Even at CHOGM, the King couldn’t help but praise everything the region has to offer.

At the end of the day, the King and Queen threw a grand five-star Caribbean dinner to celebrate with the leaders attending the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua and Barbuda. True to his nature, the King requested amazingly fresh Caribbean produce elevated with a Buckingham Palace twist. From table mats crafted by local artisan "Sexy Sue" to the "Commonwealth 56" cocktail, made with hibiscus gin and Buckingham Palace honey, and a local black pineapple tatin, every detail was perfect.

For this exquisite dinner, the King and Queen served up incomparable black-tie looks. Charles opted for a sharp black tuxedo over a crisp white shirt, completed with a black bow tie, matching formal shoes, several miniature medals, his Order of Merit neck order, and the Garter Star. Meanwhile, Camilla turned heads in a white-hued, floor-length evening gown intricately embroidered with the dagger log, the national flower of Antigua. The magnificent piece, crafted by Anna Valentine, complemented her frame perfectly, with padded shoulders and a V-neckline adding an extra touch of elegance.

Her Highness completed the look with diamond and gold earrings and a bold gold necklace from her private collection. Even her sparkly white heels perfectly matched the outfit. However, the true highlight of the evening was Charles’ speech. Delivering a warm, kind, and delightfully cheeky address, the King cracked a joke at his own expense that left the room in stitches: “It is one of the few organisations able to unite countries famous for snow, countries famous for deserts, and, most of all, countries whose citizens are utterly convinced they enjoy perfect weather all year round.” He further added, “Although perhaps part of my role as Head of the Commonwealth is to provide an umbrella for you all!” bringing even more laughter to an already memorable night.
