Kate Middleton Met a Young Cancer Patient ― and One Detail May Have Reminded Her of Princess Charlotte

In her latest outing, the Princess of Wales shared a sweet moment with a young girl who happened to share a very specific trait with Princess Charlotte.

Wherever Kate Middleton goes, it is a safe bet she will find a way to connect with children. After all, she has not earned the ‘Children’s Princess’ moniker for nothing. That trademark warmth was on full display this past Thursday when she visited The Christie, a specialist cancer center in Manchester. Onlookers were treated to a characteristically tender moment as the Princess of Wales knelt to chat with a young patient in a wheelchair. However, the little girl then pulled a playful move that likely reminded the Princess instantly of her daughter, Princess Charlotte.

The young patient was dressed comfortably in a sweatshirt and trousers. However, she had added her own stylish flair to the outfit with pink spectacles and earrings. The little fashionista also sported multi-colored nail paint, which she proudly showed off to the Princess of Wales. And the latter was all smiles as she inspected the neon green and baby blue nail polish. The moment would have likely reminded her of Charlotte, who herself is a huge fan of bright nail paints.

The 11-year-old princess has been spotted wearing colorful nail polish on several occasions. One of the first instances was when the young royal sported a bubblegum manicure at Wimbledon last year. In April, Middleton and Prince William’s official Instagram page shared a beautiful portrait of the family of five to mark the couple’s 15th wedding anniversary. In the picture, Charlotte could be seen wearing baby blue nail polish, a shade she seemingly repeated for her birthday picture a few days later

Although Charlotte definitely loves a cute manicure, she probably gets it from her mother. While the Princess of Wales had kept her nails bare during her visit to the cancer centre this week, she too has been spotted wearing bright nail paints earlier. One of the most memorable moments was when Middleton stepped out in striking red nails and a copper blue coatdress for the 2023 Easter service at St. George’s Chapel. Some years before, the then-Duchess of Cambridge had sported baby pink nails during a public appearance.

Although the style icon may occasionally like a pop of color, she usually prefers muted and pastel tones when it comes to her nail paints. During her wedding, she had opted for a nude manicure to go with her stunning lace wedding gown.

Nails aside, the Princess of Wales served another masterstroke in sartorial tributes as she chose statement bee earrings and a blue coatdress for her visit to the cancer centre. A bee is a powerful symbol, embodying many meanings, in Manchester. Her choice for the jewellery motif was certainly a nod to the city’s spirits.
