Princess Charlotte has officially entered her pre-teens, as she celebrates her 11th birthday. Her parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, shared a new portrait of the young royal on their Instagram page on Saturday, as is the tradition, and, naturally, royal fans proved yet again just how much they adore the little princess. They rushed to the comment section to wish the birthday girl with some sweet messages.

The new portrait by Matt Porteous features Charlotte standing in a field of daisies, all smiles in a red-and-black striped sweater and blue jeans. The highlight of the picture was clearly her baby-blue nails, which had the internet in a chokehold over the past few days. Her nail polish subtly matched her shirt, while the Princess’s brown ombré hair flowed down her torso, further highlighting how much she had grown.

Many devoted royal fans still remember when the entire United Kingdom was painted pink in the newborn princess’s honor, all the way back in 2015. As one fan rightfully wrote, “It feels like only yesterday we were waiting outside the Lindo Wing to catch the first glimpse of this little Princess. Now, she's a pre-teen!” Fans were also quick to notice the showstopper pastel manicure, as one fan commented, “Loving those 💅🏻! Iove that they let her be a normal kids ❤️”

While fans often liken Charlotte to her grandmother, Princess Diana, on account of her facial features, her classy presence reminds them a lot of her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The newly turned 11-year-old shares her sun sign, Taurus, with the late monarch, whose birthday fell on April 21—just a few days before hers. One fan reflected on that, writing, “A solid and reliable Taurean just like Great Grandma ✨️👑.” This time, however, fans drew comparisons between Charlotte and another royal, none other than her father, Prince William. While one fan’s comment was undeniably sweet, it might have stung Catherine Middleton a little: “Kate’s genes didn’t even put up a fight; she’s William’s spitting image.” It is also widely believed that William closely resembles his mother, Princess Diana.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram page also shared an adorable video of the young princess, thanking the royal fans for their messages on her birthday. In the short reel, Charlotte can be seen petting their dogs on a yacht, arranging seashells on sand to spell ‘I heart U’, which obviously means ‘I love you’, and playing cricket on the beach, with an impeccable bowling action. The 11-year-old might soon give Lauren Bell a run for her money.

Middleton, who is an avid photographer, is usually the one behind her kids’ pictures, including Charlotte’s birthday portrait last year. However, the Wales family appears to have taken a slight turn from tradition this year, as both Louis and Charlotte’s birthday portraits were clicked by Porteous. The skilled photographer was behind William and Middleton’s 15th wedding anniversary family portrait, as well.
