Insider Reveals Royal Family’s Brutal Reaction to Meghan’s Pregnancy Dance Video: ‘They've Lost…'

A Palace insider has revealed that the royal family was horrified by Markle and Harry’s recent antics.

Meghan Markle broke the internet with her video of twerking while heavily pregnant with her daughter, Princess Lilibet. The Duchess of Sussex posted the clip on June 4 to mark Lilibet’s fourth birthday. It also featured Prince Harry doing the Baby Momma Dance with his wife, which stirred controversy. A Palace insider has revealed that the royal family has branded Markle and Harry’s recent antics as ‘tragic.’

As reported by the Daily Express, Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan revealed that an insider informed that King Charles and Queen Camilla are aghast at the Sussexes' attention-grabbing displays. The source claimed that the video generated “a lot of raised eyebrows” within the Palace walls. They further spilled, “There is a general sense [in the Palace] that they have lost it.” 

Callahan also criticized the Duchess for posting the bizarre video online. She penned, “What is more royal, more regal — more befitting an American woman who married into her title and never lets us forget that she is a Duchess — than releasing a home movie of yourself lifting your dress, spreading your legs and gyrating while on the verge of giving birth?” Her claims were also echoed by Daily Mail editor Richard Eden, who dubbed the clip ‘unroyal’. He told the Mail, “It is not what you expect to see from members of the royal family…I think you do have to maintain some dignity and decorum.”

Royal expert Jennie Bond also shared what Charles would have thought of Markle’s ‘astonishing’ video. She told The Mirror, “If the King has watched it…I am sure he would be horrified. Royalty has to carry with it some measure of dignity.” She also took a jab at the Sussexes' need for privacy and opined, “They can’t demand privacy and be so coy about sharing images of their children and then show us all these intensely intimate scenes. And she cannot expect to be treated as if she is royal whilst behaving like a click-hungry social media influencer.” Bond argued that the hours before giving birth are “the most personal, intimate and private in the lives of any couple.” 

While Markle’s pregnant twerking video generated shockwaves, Harry had already hinted at the moment in his bombshell memoir, Spare. As per Hello! magazine, he wrote, “Nothing but joy and love in that room. We ate and ate and then did The Baby Mama Dance around the hospital room.” He shared that they hogged on In-N-Out and fajitas before Lilibet’s birth. The Duke also revealed that he wanted to be the first person his daughter saw when she came into the world, and claimed that her birth was less stressful compared to that of Prince Archie’s in 2019, given the absence of stringent royal protocols.
