Former US First Lady Jill Biden Reveals Her Lesser-Known Connection to Kate Middleton

In an excerpt shared by People, she made a surprising revelation about her deep connection with Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales. Biden met Kate in 2021 during a G7 leaders' meeting in the UK. They visited a primary school in Hayle, Cornwall, where they bonded over a shared interest in Early Childhood. As a passionate educator, Biden was impressed by the views of Kate, who expressed her commitment to the subject with utmost humility. "At every event we'd been to together, Kate and William were friendly. When Princess Kate and I cooed over rabbits at a primary school in West Cornwall, I found her instantly likable, very unassuming. She made me feel at ease. She seemed so grounded," Biden wrote in her book. She also recalled giving the then Duchess of Cambridge a precious piece of advice.
"I encouraged her to keep a journal about her experiences. She said she liked to draw and paint, but I said you can never have too many ways to privately express your feelings," Biden disclosed. The former FLOTUS was deeply impacted by the unexpected encounter and went on to work with Kate on a poignant CNN piece about early childhood. "We both believe that part of this vision for [a stronger] future must include a fundamental shift in how our countries approach the earliest years of life," they wrote in the article while detailing their vision for the project. As per HELLO! They went on to highlight that to improve children's academic performance and well-being, it is essential to prioritize their development in the early years. They further emphasized that early childhood care and education should be seen as a strategic concern, utilizing scientific insights to enhance outcomes for children and caregivers, potentially transforming future generations.
During their educational first visit, Biden, a teacher, and Kate, an early childhood education advocate, spoke with a class of four and five-year-olds about their coursework and provided treats for the school rabbits. They later underlined the value of early education during a debate. The stalwarts of education were even seen matching their outfit style for the day. Kate wore a magenta Alexander McQueen dress and neutral shoes for the adventure, while Jill dressed in a hot-pink L'Agence blazer, a white Akris A-line dress, and taupe Valentino heels, Town & Country Magazine reported. They formally met again in 2023, right before King Charles coronation.
Kate's recent Italy trip was a resounding success, showcasing her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood initiatives, emphasizing the Reggio Emilia educational approach.
