Sources close to Prince William have hinted at what his reign as the future King would look like. His unwavering dedication to his work and zero tolerance for those who are a threat to the monarchy have people convinced he would make a strong ruler. Royals, who have allegedly let the family down, including his uncle, Prince Andrew, have a questionable future in the Prince’s future reign. While it is believed the two share a strained relationship, given Andrew’s various scandals, a royal expert has revealed another reason that involves Kate Middleton.

William is known to merely tolerate his uncle for his father, King Charles’s, sake after news of his ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein broke. Andrew famously stepped down as a senior working royal in 2022 but has remained a quiet presence at royal events. According to the Daily Mail, commenting on the love lost between the uncle and nephew, royal expert Richard Kay revealed that Andrew had an unwelcoming attitude toward Middleton when she and William were dating. He reported, “Differences between monarch and heir do remain, especially when it comes to the Prince Andrew scandal. William has long held a grudge against Andrew for being unwelcoming when he first introduced the then Kate Middleton to the Royal Family and feels that his father has been too soft on him.”

The expert further opined that it is William who is pushing Charles to evict his disgraced brother from the Royal Lodge for his family to move into the lavish residence. He said, “It has led to speculation that it is William who is pushing his father to evict the Duke of York from Royal Lodge, so the Waleses could move in.”

It was previously reported that Charles has a soft corner for his brother. According to The Mirror, another expert, Tom Quinn, revealed that the sovereign, nevertheless, remains firm in forcing his younger brother to move into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, the previous residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This is allegedly for two reasons. The expert explained, “For King Charles, forcing Andrew to move to Frogmore solves several problems at once: it sends a message to Harry that, as a private citizen and no longer a working royal, he will never be allowed back to Frogmore.” The second, Quinn argued, “It sends [a] message to Andrew that having disgraced himself, he can no longer expect to live in the grand style. And, finally, it means that a suitably grand residence can be made ready for the royals who really matter, William and Kate.”

Despite the King and William's best efforts, Andrew has refused to leave the Lodge as he believes it would be a step down for him to move to Frogmore. Additionally, he remains keen to pass it down to his daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. How William would deal with 'the Andrew problem' when he's King, remains yet to be seen.
