Prince Harry is reportedly emotionally tethered to the royal family. Royal expert Dr. Tessa Dunlop believes that the Duke is caught in a ‘limbo’ between his ‘Californian' wife and his royal past. She suggests that the viral video of Meghan Markle dancing while heavily pregnant highlights the stark contrast between their upbringings. Dunlop also alleged that Markle's recent oversharing could be a ‘unique selling point’ to shape her public image.
Markle, on her daughter's 4th birthday on June 4, shared a video of her and Harry dancing in the delivery room to help induce labor for Princess Lilibet. Commenting on the clip, Dunlop told The Mirror, “His wooden moves were a reminder of the stiff royal world he has left behind. The poor Prince was caught in limbo, somewhere between his full-on Californian earthmother and a former life riddled with institutions.” The historian added that she ‘pities’ this situation where in Markle “worked on her rhythm at university in Illinois” while Harry once “languished at Eton College where lessons were of a very different kind.”

Commenting also on the Sussex children, Dunlop further argued that their anonymity may soon change as it would “only be a matter of time before we get a proper peek at Lilibet and Archie.” The couple, who are notoriously protective of their children’s privacy, hide their faces on social media using emojis or photographing them from the back. The expert opined that “nothing is out of bounds as long as she [Markle] controls the clicks,” highlighting how much their public persona changed after her viral dancing video.

The historian had some praiseworthy words for Markle’s new approach to social media. She said, “Full marks to Meghan for constantly surprising and outmanoeuvring the naysayers. The vibe, the love, the crazy overdue drama, and the sheer audacity. The haters were horrified.” The dancing video in question has garnered a whopping 37.6 million views, making it Markle’s most popular Instagram reel. In the caption, the Duchess revealed that she had to resort to dancing to induce labor when “spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work.” She and Harry twerked to The Baby Momma Dance song by Starrkista.
Markle’s pregnant dance has been heavily criticized by royal experts for being ‘vulgar’ and ‘unroyal.’ Royal expert Richard Eden told the Daily Mail, “It's just so unusual, isn't it?
