Donald Trump Had a Chilling Warning for King Charles Moments After White House Arrival
A lip reader claims Trump’s first private words to King Charles touched on security fears and rising global tensions.
King Charles has finally touched down in the U.S. for his much-anticipated visit with Donald Trump. However, the King’s arrival came with more than just formal greetings. As Trump and Melania stepped out to welcome Charles and Queen Camilla, cameras caught the smiles and handshakes but not the quiet conversation happening between them. That moment was dissected by a lip reader.
As he and the First Lady greeted Charles and Camilla on the South Lawn, Trump is said to have quietly mentioned the recent shooting and rising tensions surrounding Iran. Nicola Hickling, an expert lip reader, revealed to the Daily Mail that Trump appeared to bring up two serious topics straight away. He appeared to talk about the recent shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, as well as his recent conversations with Vladimir Putin.
Trump reportedly began by bringing up the recent shooting, saying something along the lines of, “This shooting...” Charles seemed uneasy and appeared to reply that he would rather not stay standing there for too long, adding, “I feel I shouldn't be here.” Trump then checked in, asking if the King was alright, while reflecting that the situation was “not a good thing.” He also added that although he had not been prepared before, he now felt ready, “I wasn't prepared, but now I am prepared.”
The conversation then shifted to Russia, with Trump telling Charles that he had been speaking with Vladimir Putin. He claimed, “So right now, I am talking to Putin. He wants war.”
King Charles appeared keen to move the discussion on, saying they could talk about that later, but the President continued, “I've got a feeling… if he did what he said, he would wipe out the population.” The monarch tried more than once to steer the conversation elsewhere, ending with a firm, “Another time.”
After that tense conversation, things shifted back to the scheduled visit. The royal couple was all smiles as they sat down with Trump and Melania for tea at the White House, officially kicking off the state visit. The day then continued with a large garden party, where hundreds of guests gathered, including former Olympian Tom Daley and several senior figures from Trump’s administration.
Ahead of the King’s visit, the U.S. President was asked about Charles’ visit and concerns surrounding his safety following the shooting at the White House. Trump said, “I think it's great; he'll be very safe,” continued with further assurance, "The White House grounds are really safe."
The four-day visit, running from April 27 to 30, includes a busy schedule with several key appearances planned across the U.S. One of the biggest moments will see King Charles speak before Congress, with Queen Elizabeth II being the last British monarch to do so. The trip will then finish in Virginia, where the King and Queen are expected to attend a block party marking America’s 250th birthday celebrations.
