Body Language Expert Says Meghan Sent Clear 'Message' in Concert Photo With Harry: ‘Her Hand...'
A body language expert recently decoded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's picture from Beyoncé’s concert and dubbed it 'performative.'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently had a romantic outing at Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter concert in Los Angeles. Markle shared a carousel of photos of their 'date night' on Instagram. While she posted several pictures from the night, one caught the attention of a body language expert, who claimed the move was rather ‘performative.’
Body language analyst Judi James told The Sun that it showed “little signs of anything spontaneous.” James argued that the Sussexes struck a 'celebrity power couple' pose, which was seemingly staged. She dug deeper into the pose, paying attention to Markle’s hand on Harry’s chest, and said, “The fact that the hand is so flattened adds to the suggestion of a performative pose being struck here.” James added, “The fingers are straight rather than bent in a stroke or a clasp and this very self-conscious placing of the flat hand onto the chest signals not just ownership and close attachment but it also looks as retrospective as her dress and shoulder pose, as it is the kind of positioning that is usually used to display an engagement or wedding ring during an announcement.”
The expert asserted that the Duchess of Sussex was trying to let it be known that she and Harry are together and are “as close as they were in the early days of their engagement.” James continued, “This intense sense of projection suggests she is keen to get the message across that she and Harry are very much an item and very much still in the romantic stages of love.”
Harry, according to James, meanwhile, looked more uncomfortable than his wife at the concert. Nevertheless, she suggested that his arm around Markle looked “too high and rigid to be comfortable,” as if it were posed and not spontaneous. Moreover, James said, “He’s placed the other hand in his pocket in an expression of suave casualness, but the words ‘fish out of water’ seem to apply here as he dives headlong into the world of celebrity culture.”
For the outing, Markle wore a blue off-shoulder dress with minimalistic jewelry and a hat, given the cowboy concert theme. On the other hand, the Duke opted for a casual outfit with a t-shirt, jeans, and a jacket. He too donned a hat to complete his look, which had the British flag engraved on the inside. Coming back to Markle's alleged posed picture, it comes after months of divorce rumors as the couple made solo appearances and pursued individual business ventures.
