Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married since 2018, and are proud parents to two children. In recent years, speculation about the state of their marriage has been rife as the couple makes more solo appearances and pursues individual business ventures. During her recent appearance on the podcast, Jamie Kern Lima Show, Markle finally put the divorce rumors to bed. She candidly shared that she and Harry are in it for the long haul.
Markle's first-ever podcast appearance was sans makeup and with sweatpants on April 28. As reported by the Daily Express, host Lima asked if she believes that her marriage to Harry would last ‘forever.’ She confidently replied, “Yes... He's also a fox if you haven't noticed. My husband is very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful.” The Duchess revealed where they stood after seven years of marriage. She said, “When you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way. And that's why I feel like it's more of a honeymoon period for us now.”
While the pair is going strong, their courtship was not without its challenges. Markle openly admitted to Lima that she was ‘in trenches’ with the Prince during the early days of dating. She explained, “At the beginning, everyone is like butterflies, and then we immediately went into the trenches together right out of the gate, like six months into dating.” Looking back, Markle did not shy away from praising her husband. She gushed, “We’ve built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children. He’s just going to do whatever he can to make his family safe and protected, and uplifted, and still make time for date nights.”
While discussing her marriage and family, the mum of two also teared up when reading a sweet note from her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. As per The London Standard, she read, “From Archie and Lili via Papa…We love your pancakes and we love, love, love your hugs. You're the best mummy and we love you.” She shared, “I wasn't expecting this, they're just so great." She further quipped, "This is why it's so nice to have no makeup on, thank you.”
Markle isn't the only one to silence the divorce rumors at an appearance. Harry has also set the record straight at the New York Times DealBook Summit. As per People magazine, when asked to comment about him and Markle making more solo appearances together, he jokingly replied, “We've apparently divorced maybe 10-12 times as well. So, it's just like, what? So, it's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it.” The Duke of Sussex also said he ‘felt sorry’ for the trolls hoping for a divorce, firmly stating that it’s not happening—not now, or ever.
