Camilla Braves the Irish Rain With One of Queen Elizabeth’s Favorite Accessories (Photos)

When King Charles and Queen Camilla touched down in Belfast for their high-profile three-day tour of Northern Ireland, all eyes were on how the royal couple would balance tradition and diplomacy. Meeting with organizers and performers for an upcoming Irish festival, the Queen immediately set a sophisticated tone for the visit. While the weather was uncooperative, Camilla did not let it dampen either her day's plans or her appearance. Her outfit was a signature royal coat dress look; however, royal watchers soon caught on to how the Queen incorporated and amped up her late mother-in-law's favorite French accessory for her Ireland tour.

Camilla, on the first day of her visit to Ireland, opted for a pink and blue floral Fiona Clare dress, which she had even previously worn not once but twice in May 2025 and July 2024. She paired the midi dress with an Anna Valentine wrap coat. The long sleeves' angular collar featured a wrapped belt at the waist to cinch it, giving her a more defined look. The Queen accessorized her look for the day with a Chanel cap-toe suede and satin pair of pumps, a quilted Lady Dior bag, a pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings, and a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet.

While the Queen looked chic, it was also her nod to Queen Elizabeth II that stood out. Elizabeth was famous for using her wardrobe as a quiet form of communication, and Camilla honors that tradition beautifully. To shield herself from the drizzle, she carried a classic black version of the late monarch’s absolute favorite accessory, the iconic clear Fulton birdcage umbrella.

The late Queen had several varieties of the British brand’s bubble umbrellas, possibly in every color to match her outfits, and was often seen carrying them at all events. While the umbrella is from a British brand, its origin lies with French fashion. Seeing Camilla carry the umbrella took many back to when the late Queen was frequently seen carrying this accessory to beat the rainy days.

A day before, Camilla wore a Fiona Clare navy blue dress and paired it with a matching blue coat. She kept the accessories simple with a diamond shamrock brooch. She wore the same brooch even the next day, and it is said to be the same turquoise and diamond shamrock brooch that was gifted to Elizabeth by the Dowager Duchess of Portland ahead of her marriage to Prince Philip in 1947. Camilla, on this tour, has successfully kept her mother-in-law's memory close to her heart but with a chic twist.
