William and Kate Exit Balmoral for Prince George’s Big Milestone—As Sussexes Arrive in U.K.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have wrapped up their summer break ahead of a major family milestone, just as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrive in the U.K.
After spending their summer break with the Royal Family at Balmoral, Prince William and Kate Middleton have now departed as an exciting milestone lies ahead. They will be seen prioritizing their parental duties, as their firstborn, Prince George, will soon leave for his secondary education at Eton College. The end of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ summer retreat coincides with their estranged relatives, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s, arrival in the UK this week.
William and Middleton left the Scottish Highlands with their kids on a commercial flight. While George will be stepping into the next chapter of his schooling journey, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will return to Lambrook School next month. Their first cousins, who they have likely never met, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will also start at their new U.K. schools in September. The two young royals accompanied their parents as they crossed the Atlantic in an eye-watering $120K private jet.
While the Princess of Wales had once mentioned, after Lilibet’s birth, that although she hadn’t yet FaceTimed her, she “couldn’t wait” to meet her new niece. However, given the rift between the Waleses and the Sussexes, a meeting between the two families seems improbable. Last month, William and Middleton kept their distance from Harry and Markle’s reunion with King Charles at Highgrove, choosing instead to focus on their busy schedules. Royal expert Emily Nash had revealed that the couple was “not delighted” by the news of the Sussexes’ return to the UK.
Nash told HELLO!, “Well, what is intriguing about this is the complete radio silence coming from that end of the spectrum. And what's interesting about it is that they're normally away at this time of year. I imagine they're not delighted about this.” She further mentioned that the relationship between the former Fab Four was “almost beyond repair” after everything that had been said in the past several years. “It's going to be a very, very difficult hill to climb, having them suddenly back in the UK, popping up, doing things publicly, if that's where they go with this. So much has been said and done that has damaged that relationship, almost beyond repair,” she mentioned.
William and Middleton had reached Balmoral for the summer retreat around the same time as Harry and Markle’s shocking announcement. The Waleses were later spotted attending Sunday mass at Crathie Kirk church near the Scottish castle. The beloved princess sported new honey-blonde highlights and could be seen grinning as her husband drove the family to the church.
While it is expected that the two brothers and their wives will remain apart in the U.K., they may have to coordinate with each other to avoid diary clashes. as Harry and Markle are likely to undertake charitable and commercial engagements. Concrete details about the Sussexes' choice of residence or school remain kept under wraps.
