The Truth About Meghan Markle and Prince William’s Feud — and Why She Hasn’t Forgiven Him
Royal expert Neil Sean claims Prince William's remarks on a sensitive area was the final straw in his relationship with Meghan Markle.
Where does one even begin with these two? The long-standing feud between Prince William and Meghan Markle is said to have begun soon after she joined the royal fold. If Prince Harry's memoir is any indication, the Prince of Wales was no fan of the former actress, reportedly taking issue with her perceived abrasiveness. However, royal commentator Neil Sean claims Markle is equally unforgiving, as William constantly made pointed remarks about her age, a topic that clearly struck the wrong chord.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Neil Sean's Daily News Headlines, the expert shed light on William and Markle's sketchy dynamic. He alleged that the Prince's constant reference to the Duchess as his brother's 'older girlfriend' rubbed her the wrong way. He said, "The problem with that was that Meghan Markle saw herself as sort of vibrant, upbeat, you know, if anything, a breath of fresh air. And at this point, she's entering to a latter part of her 30s." He added, "She [Markle] realized that William didn't see her in this particular stance, according to this former staff member, that's what really turned her more than anything else."
Additionally, Sean detailed Markle's reported attempts to impress William. He stressed that another reason for her anger was the fact that she had allegedly tried everything to get William to like her, like talking about his hobbies and his charitable endeavors. Unfortunately, "William could see through it...unlike his younger brother, William spotted that Meghan Markle was a phony and basically attached herself to things." Despite her alleged best attempt to appear in designer clothes and flirt around, she could not compete with Kate Middleton, whom William obviously viewed with high regard. This reason, as Sean put it, has led to Markle's alleged unforgiveness.
Adding to his analysis, Sean also talked about how the Princess of Wales tried her best to get along with Markle, but her constant obsession with Hollywood reportedly turned her off. He argued, "Catherine tried her very best to get on with Meghan, but seemingly Meghan just liked to tell her anecdotes about what she'd learned in the fabled land of Hollywood." He continued, "Hollywood, where she's never actually been a star, and it got a little bit tiresome to say the least."
Sean's recent comments come as little surprise, considering that Markle and William's rift has been well documented in Harry's memoir, Spare. In one of the excerpts, he mentioned that his brother had allegedly called Markle 'rude and abrasive,' leading to a physical altercation. Detailing how the fight happened 'so fast,' he penned, "He [William] grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dogs' bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."
