The One Royal King Charles Trusts Most for International Tours — And It's Not Kate Middleton

This senior royal has undertaken 4 international tours only in 2026.

The royal family has been operating under a slimmed-down structure, with a handful of working royals performing royal engagements. Amid this, they are rarely seen undertaking international tours annually. When it comes to popularity, it is known that the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton's, recent trip to Italy was a massive success. However, an expert has revealed that one senior royal has always been the backbone of the institution when it comes to maintaining diplomacy and high standards, so much so that King Charles completely relies on her astute nature to handle foreign trips.

Body language expert Darren Stanton pointed out that Princess Anne's dedication to the monarchy makes her a dependable choice to represent the 'firm' abroad. She is currently on a tour of South Korea with her husband, Sir Tim Laurence. "I think immense trust is placed in her by the King," Stanton highlighted. "The fact Anne and Tim Laurence have been chosen for this trip shows that."

The Princess Royal has struck a chord with Korean culture through her engagements, including a visit to the United Nations Memorial Cemetery and a lively visit to one of the world’s largest shipbuilders. The expert noted that her activities have earned her respect among South Koreans, Marie Claire reported. "They show a lot of submissive gestures, but also seem to be really warming to her. People can often be subservient out of fear or nerves, but the broad Duchenne smiles on the faces of the people she is meeting show that this subservience comes from a place of real respect," Stanton said.

Anne also attended the UK-Korea Sustainable Fashion Futures event; next, she graced Korea University with her presence, where she engaged with Save the Children representatives, and later she held an audience with the K-Pop group NMIXX at a reception honoring the UK-Republic of Korea partnership. "What I have seen of the trip so far really demonstrates why the trust the King has in her is so well placed," Stanton added and noted the "incredibly successful start" to the tour. "She is such a natural," he praised.

The Royal Family Instagram handle uploaded a set of pictures from the ongoing tour with the caption: "The Princess Royal is in South Korea!" This year alone, the Princess Royal has undertaken four international tours, from the Winter Olympics in Milan to commemorations in Crete and the Somme, culminating in her ongoing diplomatic tour of South Korea and Thailand. It's a schedule that leaves little doubt why King Charles continues to lean on her above almost anyone else in the family.
