Prince William and Kate Middleton are seemingly taking steps to shape their kids for their future roles in the monarchy.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are not only faces of a modern monarchy but also devoted parents to their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. And as senior working royals, their personal lives and professional duties are more often than not interconnected. William and Middleton have tried their best to give George, Charlotte, and Louis as normal a childhood as possible. The pair is naturally protective of their children, but at the same time, they also acknowledge that the three kids need to know how the royal world operates. For that reason, the couple has made an important decision to help shape them for their future roles in the monarchy. “The children are the future royal family, so William and Kate accept that they need to be seen in public sometimes,” royal author Robert Jobson told Hello!
Recently, the Prince and Princess of Wales, accompanied by their children, attended the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The family outing was filled with light-hearted banter, thrilling sports moments, and laughs. Jobson further mentioned, "The reality is that they're still very protective of them, but in certain situations it works, and I think this worked really well. It's also good for the kids without overwhelming them."
Much like their parents, George, Charlotte, and Louis are loved by the public. Their humility was visible when they attended the coveted tournament earlier this month. “They're very natural when they're out – they sat among the crowd and weren't given special treatment," the royal author said, "They know they get privileges and I'm sure they're told that it's a great honor for them to meet these athletes.” The Waleses kids are known to be sporty and must have certainly enjoyed their time watching some of the best sportspersons in the world perform with such high stakes.
George, Charlotte, and Louis have carved a niche space in royal circles. Each of them is popular for their own unique strengths. The future-future king is popular for his poise, Charlotte for her disciplinarian role, and, as Jobson suggested, Louis is a “character”. The royal author further added, “The public love him and it's nice to see all three of them together.”
This year, George will begin his secondary education at Eton College, following in the footsteps of his father, William, and his uncle, Prince Harry. The Prince and Princess of Wales had carefully decided on the school after touring several prestigious institutions.
