Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly on different professional paths, but their marriage seems to be going strong. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have time and again gushed about one another in various interviews, with Markle also claiming that they are still in their 'honeymoon phase'. As divorce rumors are still rife, and the Sussexes' popularity continues to fall, royal experts have warned that if the Duchess were to truly part with Harry, she will ‘destroy her reputation’ for good.

Discussing Harry and Markle's marriage, royal experts Jack Royston and Ingrid Seward recently stressed that they would be ‘stunned’ if the couple were to ever really separate. On The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Royston brought up a scenario in which Markle and Harry would no longer be together and examined the consequences of such a move. He said, “Imagine if Meghan left Harry, it would destroy her reputation.” He added, “She would be eviscerated publicly because she's already slipped into this kind of category on social media, the way that pop culture commentators talk about her.”

The expert addressed claims that Markle is a narcissist and continued, “They lump her in with these other famous women who are perceived as being narcissistic or being controlling of their husbands... Alec Baldwin's wife got this treatment the other day. So, Blake Lively as well. So if she walked out on Harry, she would never reputationally survive it.” Royston also pondered out loud on how things would be for Harry. He said, “Harry, without Meghan, what's his life in America going to be like?” Seward chimed, agreeing that the Sussexes are ‘dependent on each other.’

Seward opined that another reason why Harry might be against a separation is because he wouldn't want to ever leave his children, especially given his parents' own divorce, which was incredibly painful. She added, “In America, the rules about children are that they're always with the mother, nearly always. So it's not going to happen.” The experts also marveled that the couple recently celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary despite the many ups and downs. Seward said, “Do you remember when they got married, a lot of members ...of the royal family said it won't last five years. It's lasted seven.” Royston stressed, “They need each other...Without Harry, she's nothing, and without her, Harry’s life in America is nothing.”

Harry and Markle bought their house in Montecito, California, in 2020. After resigning from their royal duties, the couple moved to the US with their son, Prince Archie. Their exit from the family was followed by several controversial interviews and projects in which the Sussexes talked about their time in the UK. Harry also released his memoir, Spare, which spilled many revelations about his parents, brother Prince William, and the rest of the royal family.
