Royal Expert Says Harry Can Win Back William But Only on One Condition: 'He's Got to Clear...'

Prince Harry is reportedly planning to invite his estranged father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, to the 2027 Invictus Games, scheduled to be held in Birmingham. The sporting event is expected to bring the Duke of Sussex back to his home country and help him reconcile with his rifted family, should everything go as planned. However, royal experts believe that Harry has a lot of "bad air" to clear to be able to mend his strained relationship with his family, but winning William back is still plausible.
Harry and William reportedly had a brief exchange during their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth’s, funeral in 2022. The Duke’s many prior explosive interviews with his wife, Meghan Markle, a Netflix documentary, and his tell-all memoir, Spare, further fractured his relationship with the Prince of Wales.
Amid their ongoing feud, the question has arisen whether Charles and William would attend the games, held for injured servicemen, in 2027, if Harry invites them, as reports claim. Sharing his thoughts on the sibling rivalry on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, former Buckingham Palace spokesman Dickie Arbiter said, “There's got to be a lot to happen between now and then. You can't just brush everything under the carpet. The Oprah interview. The six hours of Netflix slagging off the royal family. The book Spare. You can't just sweep that under the carpet.” Therefore, he believes, an 'apology' from Harry's side could go a long way.
Arbiter continued, “The king is sort of commander in chief of the armed services, and it would be a good fit and a good show for him to appear, but it's a very difficult one. He's been placed in a dilemma as to how to cope with this. I think we have to wait and see how this moves on as to whether there is an apology.” In his views, Charles may have a ‘soft spot’ for Harry, but William doesn't want to have anything to do with him.' Criticizing Harry’s comments on his bombshell BBC interview, the former spokesperson for the palace opined, “The ground is with a capital ‘a’ apology, and you've got to mean it.” This comes after another royal insider claimed that William is no longer angry at his brother as he's in a much 'healthier space'.

Previously, a source informed the Daily Mail about Harry’s decision to invite his family to the Invictus Games in 2027. The source said, “Invictus hopes the royal family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans.”
According to the insider, the royal family has supported the games for years and has been proud of Harry for everything he has achieved with the prestigious event. The source added, “This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated.” Experts have also called the games the ideal platform for the brothers and the father-son duo to reunite. With the inclusion of the British military, expert Bronte Coy claimed that the king’s absence from the games would run the risk of looking ‘petty.’ The games will commence on July 12, 2027, and wrap up by July 17, 2027. However, it is yet to be confirmed if Harry will fly to the U.K. for the games.
