Psychologist Says William Is a ‘Calming Influence’ on Middleton Family: ‘He's The Protector…’

Prince William is a family man through and through. From being a devoted father to his three children to supporting Kate Middleton during her cancer battle, he has made it clear that his family comes first, even if it means putting his royal duties on hold. A celebrity psychologist has weighed in on the prince’s recent appearance at the prestigious Royal Ascot event, where he was seen warmly interacting with the members of his extended family. Apparently, his body language revealed a strong sense of being the "protector."
In conversation with Hello! Magazine, Royal expert, and celebrity psychologist, Dr. Arthur Cassidy, analysed William’s meeting with his family members. The prince arrived at Royal Ascot without Middleton as the princess pulled out of the event at the last minute. Throughout the event, the Prince of Wales effortlessly mingled with several family members, including his cousin Zara Tindall, his mother-in-law Carole Middleton, among others. Analyzing his behavior, Cassidy said, “Prince William is consistently a calming influence on not only Carole but the entire Middleton family.” He further addressed his protective behavior towards his family and added, “[William] is the protector and guardian of Kate and Princes George, Louis, and Princess Charlotte.” In Cassidy’s opinion, the prince is also influenced by his mother-in-law’s ‘charismatic’ personality. He said, “Since Prince William met Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, he would have intuitively been attracted to her charismatic nature and fun-loving personality.”

The expert further opined, “The astute, highly motivated and driven businesswoman was exactly what Prince William needed to provide the context for his own personal identity development amid all of his royal responsibilities.” He claimed how Carole could help him and Middleton in shaping the monarchy in the modern world, saying, “Having the business head of Carole would be a most significant and refreshing external source as William could turn to her for wisdom and guidance on how he and Kate could make the monarchy more relatable for the future.”

Reports have also claimed that William, when he ascends to the throne, would bring more extended family members to the forefront to take up royal duties. This would happen when some current senior royals would take a break from their duties. While he will be driven by his duty, his family will always come first to him. Addressing how the prince has prioritized his family, especially after his wife’s cancer battle, expert Jennie Bond opined that these dynamics will remain unchanged when he becomes the king.
According to the Mirror, the expert opined, “These years are a period when, without the never-ending state duties of a monarch, he can be allowed to concentrate rather more fully on his wife and children. So I think school holidays will continue to be ring-fenced as much as possible, even if he is criticised for doing so.” Bond added, “You just have to look at the pictures of William and his children released for Father's Day to see how much they adore him and how close they are as a family. This tall, handsome, smiling man is their dad and their protector. And William would never want to put that in any jeopardy.”
