Princess Kate Makes a Subtle Tribute to Princess Diana During Sultan of Oman’s State Visit
The Princess of Wales turned heads in an all-green ensemble in Windsor today, but it was her choice of accessory that truly stole the spotlight.
While Princess Kate has been embracing her role as the future Queen, she has also found subtle ways to pay tribute to the royal family’s past. During the welcoming ceremony for the Sultan of Oman, she stepped out in a graceful green outfit. However, it was her choice of accessory that caught attention, as it appeared to carry a subtle tribute to Princess Diana.

Middleton’s statement-worthy ensemble featured a forest-green-hued long coat dress. With padded shoulders and a crisp, collared neckline, which added a formal touch to the ensemble, the long, full-sleeved coat worked wonders for the Princess’ toned frame. Her well-tailored coat, which was crafted by none other than Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, also featured a flattering cinched waistline, creating a simply striking silhouette. She also added a sheer high-neck blouse under the coat, adding some extra charm to the look. Ultimately, Middleton also elevated the whole look with just the right accessory choices.

This list included the sassiest classic black court heels and a charming quilted Chanel handbag, adding some extra finesse to the whole outfit. However, it was the gasp-worthy brooch, which added some extra Royal shimmer to the ensemble, and stole the show. The sparkly accessory was pinned to her lapel, taking the outfit to the next level. Known as the Queen Alexandra Three Feathers brooch, the piece dates back to 1863. It was reportedly gifted to Princess Alexandra of Denmark when she was married to the then-Prince of Wales, Edward VII.

While Kate looked radiant, her choice of jewellery carried a touching tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. This exquisite brooch, which showcased the delicate ostrich feathers featured on the Prince of Wales’ heraldic badge, was a masterpiece. But that’s not all; the brooch was also encrusted with diamonds and a drop emerald. The brooch was given to Diana when she got married to the then-Prince Charles. It was later gifted to Middleton when she became the Princess of Wales. By choosing to wear the sentimental piece for this special occasion, Kate appeared to honour Diana’s legacy, adding an extra-special touch to the official State visit.
