Princess Eugenie Makes Rare Nod to Harry in Emotional Statement — Ends Feud Rumors For Good

Princess Eugenie opened up about her painful journey with scoliosis while speaking to the Scoliosis Support & Research charity on June 16. Eugenie, who underwent surgery for severe spinal curvature at 12 years old, reflected on her ‘scars’ that taught her to be resilient. Her powerful interview also included a subtle nod to Prince Harry, amid ongoing rumors of a rift. In her candid chat, she mentioned how veterans wear their scars with pride at the Invictus Games, paying a quiet tribute to her cousin’s foundation.
Eugenie underwent scoliosis surgery in 2002 at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where she had an eight-hour operation to correct her spine. As reported by the Daily Express, speaking about her experience, she said, "I think scars are, they tell a story about your life, you know, I mean if you think about what people go through, you know, like paralympians." Sliding in a nod to Harry, she added, "You know Invictus Games and all these people that have overcome absolute atrocities and wear their scars with pride like a badge of honor, and I think the same goes for these operations that young people go through."
Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014, which is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. Inspired by the Duke's own decade-long military service and visits to the Warrior Games in the U.S., the Foundation uses sports to support rehabilitation, recovery, and generate a wider understanding about the lives of those who serve. While Eugenie has never personally attended the Invictus Games, she praised such events for giving veterans a platform to embrace their scars and take pride in their strength.
Coming back to the alleged feud between Harry and Eugenie, British journalist Piers Morgan first stirred drama when he claimed that Harry and Meghan Markle were very angry with the Princess after she hugged him at a pub. The journalist, who has been a long-time critic of the Sussexes, said on Piers Morgan Uncensored, "I was seen hugging them [Beatrice and Eugenie] goodbye, and Harry saw this and went completely ballistic. And I can confirm...that this is entirely true." A source also told The Sun that the Duke cut Eugenie off after her friendship with Morgan went public. Amidst the salacious claims, a Sussex insider rubbished the claims, telling People magazine, "The Duke remains close to Princess Eugenie. They always have and always will be."

Eugenie also shut down rumors of tension with Harry and Markle during her appearance on Day 4 of Royal Ascot on June 20. The Princess was seen snapping a cheerful selfie with Misha Nonoo, one of Markle’s closest friends, as they enjoyed the races together. Her friendly selfie with Nonoo suggests she remains on good terms with the Sussexes, as Nonoo is one of Markle’s best friends.
