Princess Beatrice’s Friend Talks About Her ‘Modern’ Marriage and ‘Blended Family’: ‘Rules Don’t Have…’

Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020, and the couple has since welcomed two daughters, Sienna Elizabeth and Athena Elizabeth. Beatrice is also stepmother to Edoardo’s son, Christopher Woolf, from a previous relationship. She has always made sure to include her stepson in formal royal events and clearly enjoys her role as a stepmom. Reflecting on their sweet family dynamic, Beatrice's friend Juliet Angus praised how humble and down-to-earth they remain, despite their aristocratic upbringing.

Angus dubbed Beatrice and her family 'sweet and adorable.' She told HELLO!, "I see them at Glastonbury and at dinner parties, and I love their relationship and how cute and modern they are. I love that they’re a blended family – rules don’t have to be such big rules anymore." Rumors of a romance between Beatrice and Edoardo first surfaced in 2019, when the pair attended the Portrait Gala at London’s National Portrait Gallery together. In September 2019, the couple confirmed their engagement, sharing sweet photos on social media of the proposal in Italy along with the engagement ring.

Beatrice has previously also opened up about being a stepmother. During the COVID-19 pandemic, in an article for The Evening Standard, she wrote that being Christopher's stepmom was a 'great honor', adding that she had enjoyed some 'remarkable' times in lockdown reading books with him. She penned, "My stepson has been homeschooling...It is amazing how, in between video calls and working through technology, we have had more time in the day to enjoy reading, and it’s shown how important it has been to step away from the screen and jump into worlds unknown through the help of books."

Another one of Beatrice's best friends, Gabriela Peacock, echoed that the Princess is a 'fantastic mom' to her three children. She told HELLO!, "Bea has such a good heart and she's such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her." Speaking of her close relationship with Woolf, she added, "She's had Wolfie in her life since she and Edo met and has always been incredible with him. She is extremely nurturing and involved with both kids' lives. It's lovely to see my best friend growing into this next stage of her life and to share it with her."
Royal correspondent Danielle Stacey also praised Beatrice’s humble approach to mingling with the crowd recently at the Lionesses welcome parade, despite her royal status. She said, "It was so heartwarming to see Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi with their young family showing their support for the Lionesses. They blended in among the crowd and waited just like any other football fans to catch a glimpse of the team during their victory parade." She added, "Princess Beatrice and Edoardo standing with the public to see the players shows just how much the royal family is behind the Lionesses and women's sport." Stacey was referring to Beatrice’s debut with her baby daughter, Athena, alongside Edoardo, Sienna, and Woolf, at the Mall last month.
