Prince William Quietly Steps Out to Perform Royal Duties Even on Prince Louis' Birthday
William’s visit was meant to highlight Jaguar TCS Racing’s developments in sustainable technology.
Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is also one of the most loved royals alongside his siblings. His fans and family are showering him with love for his eighth birthday. To mark this day, his parents have followed their long-held tradition of sharing a new portrait on their social media channels and giving royal watchers a fresh glimpse of the young prince. However, it has now been revealed that even on the special occasion, William decided to prioritize his solo royal duty by visiting the headquarters of the British Formula E team, Jaguar TCS Racing, to explore the future of race cars.
William’s appearance was especially meant to highlight the firm’s contributions in sustainable technology and electric motorsport. It's worth noting that the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has featured Jaguar TCS Racing for many years, with the team securing more wins than any of its competitors. Another noteworthy aspect is that Formula E has made history by becoming the first sport to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint since its launch in 2014. More recently, it became the first global sporting body to earn B Corp Certification, recognizing high standards in social and environmental impact, as reported by People Magazine.
The Prince of Wales is a strong supporter of sustainability and shares his father, King Charles’s, deep commitment to protecting the planet. For instance, during one of his public speeches in the past, William spoke about how the environment is being damaged and said, "Mankind has benefited from unimaginable technological developments and scientific breakthroughs. And although those breakthroughs have increased our awareness of the impact humans have on our world, our planet has become more fragile,” as reported by CNBC.
He also launched the Earthshot Prize initiative in 2020 to drive environmental solutions over the coming decade. Hence, there's no doubt why this visit was so special to him. On Thursday, when William visited the headquarters of Jaguar TCS Racing, he even got a chance to meet the team members, including the engineers, young graduates, and star Formula E drivers Mitch Evans and António Félix da Costa. He was also lucky to get an inside look at how the team creates and builds its I-TYPE 7 and other upcoming race cars, even taking a look at the remote operations room, from where experts assist trackside crews.
Meanwhile, as William opted to carry out official duties on Louis's birthday, the young prince also spent his day on a much more ordinary schedule, joining his friends at school. Currently, all three Wales’ children are enrolled in Lambrook School in Windsor, where classes had just resumed after a brief holiday. Nevertheless, despite the busy schedule, Louis can likely look forward to having a delicious homemade birthday cake, considering the past remarks made by Kate Middleton, where she confessed her love for baking for her kids.
