Prince Harry’s public plea for reconciliation with his estranged family last month gave royal watchers a ray of hope. However, experts have claimed that the Prince's BBC interview instead rubbed royals the wrong way, with them no longer trusting Harry. Amid the dispute, Prince William, as heir to the throne, allegedly has big plans for the monarchy, which do not involve Harry.

Royal author Robert Jobson recently shed light on the ongoing rift in a conversation with Hello! magazine. He claimed things have gotten to a point of no return between the two princes. Commenting on their differing views, Jobson claimed that William is now focused on preparing his three kids for royal duties in the coming years. The author said, “It's all about William now, and him preparing Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis for their future roles in the next decade or so.” The future King allegedly wants a future sans Harry. The author asserted, "I do think that the idea of Harry ever coming back and doing anything constructive for the royal family is pretty much over."

Other than his explosive sit-down with the BBC, Harry's recent video of twerking with a pregnant Meghan Markle also garnered a lot of criticism and was dubbed as 'unroyal'. The video taken in a hospital delivery room before Princess Lilibet's birth saw the couple dancing it up to induce labor. Jobson argued that these past indiscretions are ‘difficult’ to forget. He said, “Not because of the twerking, but because there's too much water under the bridge. Too many things have gone on that would be difficult to erase from memory.”

Royal expert Camilla Tominey, however, argued that the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham may bring Harry and King Charles together. She suggested, “Equally exploratory have been discussions about if or when father and son could ever be reunited, with some mooting that the next Invictus Games could provide an opportunity when it is held in Birmingham in 2027.” Others are skeptical whether Harry really wishes to reconcile with his family after his friend told Daily Mail that the Duke reached out to his uncle, Charles Spencer, to seek advice on changing his surname. Harry allegedly wished to change his and his children's last names to that of his late mother, Princess Diana’s, to teach his father a lesson when Prince Archie and Lilibet's passports were delayed.

Coming back to William, the Prince of Wales is reportedly ‘appalled’ by his younger brother’s BBC interview, according to an insider. An undisclosed source told Us Weekly that Harry, citing his father’s illness as the reason to reunite with his family, did not sit well with William. They explained, “There is no turning back for William. The door is firmly shut.” Expert Marlene Koenig chimed in to opine, “Bridges have been burned on both sides.”
