Prince Harry Is Not Worried About Meghan Markle’s Hollywood Return, Claims Expert
Prince Harry may be quietly exhaling a sigh of relief over Meghan Markle’s latest career move. After years of speculation about her next big step since she stepped down as a working royal, the Duchess of Sussex is heading back to where it all began, Hollywood. And according to a royal expert, this return to the screen might just bring a welcome sense of balance to their marriage. Last week, it was revealed that Markle, 44, will make her first on-screen appearance in years playing herself in the upcoming film, Close Personal Friends. The ensemble comedy, featuring Lily Collins, Brie Larson, and Jack Quaid, explores the dynamics between two couples, one living in the public eye and the other leading ordinary lives.

For Markle, it’s a full-circle moment. She caught her big break as paralegal Rachel Zane on the popular legal drama Suits, before walking away from acting to marry Prince Harry in 2018. During her engagement interview with the BBC, she said her decision was not a sacrifice. "I don’t see it as giving anything up... I just see it as a change." The couple later stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and have since built a life in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four. In the years since, Markle has worn several hats: podcast host, lifestyle entrepreneur, and Netflix producer. Her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and her streaming series, With Love, Meghan, have kept her in the spotlight. But this new Hollywood chapter, royal watchers say, could be the most significant yet! And not just for her, but for Harry too.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told The Daily Mail that Harry is likely more relieved than rattled by his wife’s decision to return to acting. "If Meghan is on set, it means she’s not at home filming intimate moments to share on social media," she said, adding that Harry has always done his best to keep Markle happy. "I imagine it’s a relief. Plus, happy wife… happy life." "Harry goes out of his way to give Meghan what she wants and has from day one," Schofield said.
And other than only being relieved, Harry has long worn his heart and his loyalty on his sleeve. From the very start, he’s been the kind of husband who doesn’t just stand beside Markle but actively roots for her. Her ambition and independence, far from intimidating him, were qualities that drew him in. And it can be suggested that, other than being relieved, he must be excited too. Reflecting on their first meeting, Harry once told the BBC, "I never watched Suits, I never heard of Markle before. I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her sitting there. I thought, ‘Okay, I really have to up my game here.’"
According to those close to the Sussexes, he couldn’t be more encouraging. A friend told that the Duke "wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy," adding that his support remains as steady as ever, per The Mirror.
