Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Final Nottingham Stop Has a Personal Link to Their Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were on a whirlwind trip across Nottingham, supporting causes close to their hearts for the first time after an unexpected homecoming in August. Their final visit was to Epic Partners, an organization that mentors youngsters and families through various activities, which held special significance for them.

In 2018, Leonora Ncomanzi, mentored by Markle through Epic’s Full Effect program, was invited to the Sussexes' royal wedding celebrations. The Duchess originally met participants in the program during a visit to Nottingham Academy in December 2017, and later returned to engage privately with the girls' nurture group.
Meanwhile, Harry's relationship with the Epic Partners community began with a 2013 visit that led to the creation of Full Effect, a partnership between Epic and the Community Recording Studio (CRS). Supported by The Royal Foundation from 2013 to 2020, the program combined community support and school interventions with music and creative activities to reduce youth violence and crime. Markle became part of the foundation after their 2018 wedding; however, their professional partnership concluded in 2019 when they launched their own charitable organization, PEOPLE! reported.

During their visit, the Sussexes engaged in fun activities, including trying their hand at snooker, decorating cupcakes, and posing for selfies with youngsters. Nottingham holds significance for the Duke and the Duchess, as it was the site of their first joint royal outing following their engagement announcement in November 2017. The couple is trying to maintain the right balance by indulging in community activities during weekdays. "During the week, while the kids are in school, they’re working," a source claimed. "They’re enjoying family weekends together."

The couple began their visit on a high note, arriving to a cheering crowd at the Community Recording Studio while greeting well-wishers. They also interacted with young schoolchildren. Markle became visibly emotional while receiving bouquets and a balloon; at one point, she said it "was great to be back".
The moment was shared on X. Ria Miller, an onlooker who spoke to Markle, noted that the Duchess had tears in her eyes. “I’m a Sussex supporter; as a woman and a mother, I see what Meghan goes through daily, with multiple articles written about her that are often false and debunked. And I just want them to see that there are real people, not social media trolls or royal commentators. They are real people who see her, appreciate and love her, and respect her. Give her the love," she told the Daily Express.
